id call him a 4.5 or a 5...but hey whatever you feel man

im not impressed...he had chances to show us what he was really made of...he declined

if him, and his people, hadnt been so deperate that they opened themselves up to alot of criticism...i might be less harsh on him...it is what it is

He's had 20+ title defenses with MAYBE 6-8 credible opponents. You can't fight the best every time and mandatories do stall things but if I has to grade GGG's legacy from a 0-10 I'd give it a 7-7.5 right now. I'll bump it to an 8 with a decision Canelo win or maybe a bit over 8 if he stops Canelo. Idk what do you guys think about his legacy?
I think that G is at his pinnacle right now. He’s slowly declining, so if he sparks Clenelo clean, it’s a clean and official legacy. Now that he’s 36 everyone wants him. 3 to 5 years ago nobody wanted anything to do with him... that messed up what could’ve been an extraordinary legacy. Had he not had so many fighters swerve on him, he’d have a much stronger resume and legacy. If and when he slaps Ginger around, that will be his career defining fight. Legacy will stop there. Imo he already beat Clenelo. It’s hard to fight the fighter himself, judges and a damn ref

Golovkin is the dominant MW of his era. All you can ask of a fighter is that he beat the fighters they put in front of him and so far no MW has beat him and that's not too shabby. Haters gonna hate, it's just their nature.

True. When Golovkin beats them they suddenly become irrelevant. It’s interesting how when someone like Spence (who is great btw) puts away someone easily there’s no criticism of him. It’s the organization who put the bum in there. Golovkin, who is undefeated with the highest KO percentage in MW history, had nothing to do with it. It’s his weak opponents. Interesting double standard from boxing fans. Don’t you think?

Never dared to be great or prove that he was special...

A step above a Sturm or a Abraham perhaps...but clearly below Hagler, Hopkins, and Monzon to name a few modern Middles...

How can a fighter be at his pinnacle and slowly declining at the same time?

Golvolkin is a hall of fam boxer without a doubt.
He never ducked never ran and went after the big names they just never wanted to face him early in his prime.

                    Suddenly irrelevant? Who exactly?

No organization made ggg fight Vanes. As a matter of fact ggg could have fought the Russian and got the IBF mandatory out of the way. Still can't figure that one out. Probably would have won.

As far as rating gggs legacy, I'll go with a 7. While he certainly deserved decisions over both Jacobs and Canelo, he wasn't dominant over either and these are his only wins over upper level competition(Brooks was a welterweight) I know taking the Ward fight would have been a huge risk, but that's what great fighters do. Imo, that was his teams chance to prove his meddle, they passed
