why do people continue to mention Porter & Garcia with potential Spence or Crawford bout? Spence and or Crawford will destroy either Porter or Garcia. These bouts will never happen....same with Thurman....

He wants to fight the Garcia vs Porter winner, so that once he has two belts he can get the larger sum when he goes against Crawford. If they fight now its probably 50/50.

Hurd did the same thing fighting Lara before Charlo. Charlo vs Hurd will be a bigger fight and Hurd needed that belt to get a larger percentage.

Expect the Garcia vs Porter winner to have a trilogy v Adrien Broner first. I know Porter already fought him once, but that 12th round knockdown leaves unfinished business. Poor Spence will have to keep busy with the IBF's illustrious opponents...

Lara has basically been the class of the jr middleweight division for a very long time. Porter and Garcia are second tier welterweights fighting for a belt that was vacated by a guy that beat them both. A win over Lara increased Hurd’s status. A win over the Porter-Garcia winner does nothing for Spence.

I agree about Lara being the man at 154 but it still made sense for Hurd to fight him first. Just like it's smart for Spence to unify with the Porter/Garcia winner to give himself a bigger piece of the pie. The Spence /Crawford fight will be huge when it happens. So, maybe Bud needs to follow suit and try to get to Keith before someone else does. That way when they fight it can be for all the marbles and a PPV fight.

I expect Spence to fight the Alexander-Berto winner towards the end of this year. And hopefully the winner of Garcia-Porter after that, probably about a year from right now.

The thing to be watching right now is if Thurman stays retired and the WBA strips him. If they do that in the next month, that would make the Matthysse-Pac fight for the WBA title. Which would then be lost to Bud. Which is another easy title for Crawford, in another gross mismatch.

If Thurman doesn't announce a comeback date and opponent in the next two to three weeks, expect the WBA to strip him and make Matthysse-Manny for the title. Its been what, a year and a half since Thurman fought? That is plenty of time, and now the WBA is going to make him decide if he is retired for good or not.
