Apart from cricket I can’t really think of any top Indian sportsmen. It’s not a hot bed of athletes like west Africa for example

need to lose the blinkers set by region. Once you appreciate that india and china are more way more massive than european countries in population per square mile, then you'll appreciate that those population masses will have specialities ingrained in their masses just as europe does.

Everyone always got something bad to say I'm pretty sure when he said India could produce the next Muhammad Ali I don't think he meant literally a heavyweight Indian champion lol hes talking about producing a world class athlete that could possibly become the next big thing of the generation and why not I'm not Indian but they are a big country and with the right facilities and instruction I'm sure just like most countries they can produce some good fighters maybe even world champions.

Its at least a step in the right direction, and he mentioned hes doing it in Pakistan as well so hes just trying to help develop talent in countries and give them opportunity. People like to hate on the guy but even if it does benefit him he is still opening doors for children to make something of themselves.

India is not a sporting nation period, with over a billion citizens, their Olympic medal standing is absolutely pathetic. The only sport they seem to care about is Cricket which is not even a global sport.

I can't disagree with India's Olympic performance, especially per capita.

But to say Cricket isn't a global sport, is a bunch of ****ing ******ity - there are over 120 countries affiliated with the ICC.

The IPL - a non-international, 6 week tournament, has an estimated value of over $5billion.
