Looking at both Lomo’s & Crawford’s key opponents, who https://www.boxingscene.com/forums/i...parator.gifhad the stronger competition Ward?
Lomo’s (3 division champion)
Best Wins:
Linares
Russell
Walters
Rigondeaux
Crawford’s (3 division champion)
Best Wins:
Gamboa
Postol
Molina Jr.
Horn
Based on Ward’s own criteria, my pick is Lomo....
I do agree the top of Loma's resume is better though. Those 4 wins trump Bud's but people have tended to underrate the Postol and Gamboa wins. He was a 2-1 underdog against Gamboa.

He needs to actually fight active p4p quality opponents... something he has yet to do. I give GGG and Lomachencko **** for their lacking resumes while being hyped as top p4p fighters but they finally fought a few recently. Crawford has fought only Gamboa who was inactive, blown up, on the downside of his career, and at a huge size disadvantage. Gamboa still buzzed him too. Fighting the top guys at welterweight like Porter, Danny Garcia, Thurman, and Spence will show if Crawford actually belongs at the top p4p. Beating bum Horn is like Danny Garcia beating Rod Salka but Salka having a gifted belt at the time.

Seriously, how about Crawford beats Spence or even Thurman. He looks great I agree but until he beats either of these there will always be questions about his comp. Same as Golovkin, even though I think he did beat both Jacobs & Canelo pretty clearly. 8-4 or 7-5 if being generous.
1 - Loma
2 - Crawford
3 - Golovkin
Top 2 deserve higher marks simply 'cause they've moved up even though Golovkin has maintained his dominance for longer & never even been wobbled let alone knocked down. You know I could always argue that contenders/champs weren't willing to get in the ring against GGG when was younger, but we still can only grade on what actually has happened, not on the what if's.
