      Agreed

He took that final beating like a champ . No excuses just after which was a breath of fresh air from haye

I was at the enzo mac fight and the Ruiz fight both top nights out . Haye was more interested in stardom in the end which had a negative effect on his boxing

At cruiser he was class .... heavy not so much but I’m sure he made bank

      Fair play to him

I’m going to miss hearing ‘Ain’t no stopping us now’. I just wish Luke Watkins was good because his ringwalk music is a close second.

David has always been articulate (unlike most boxers) and this was very well-written. Written by somebody who is capable of an honest reflection and wisdom. He's done very well in his career and I hope we will see more of him as a promoter. Something he'll surely do well as well.

I'd pay to see Hearn vs Haye: The Verbal Battle of Promoters

The best cruiserweight the uk has ever produced but trying to gain muscle mass and force extra weight on his frame to compete with the big men obviously destroyed his body.
I met him one time driving in my car in london and wished him well for the WK fight...he leaned over and shook my hand.
As a cruiserweight he was enormously skilled and a killer

Wish him all the best in retirement. You don't realise what fighters put their body through and I don't think the fighters realise how much they love the sport until they're at the end.

A very humble statement. Props to him for giving Bellew the respect for not only his 2 victories but for saying Bellew would have been a tough opponent in his prime. I was never a big Haye fan but he was always entertaining to watch. It’s a shame his biggest battles were with injuries. It leaves you wondering what might have been if he could have avoided the serious injuries? At least he isn’t punch drunk & hanging on. Good luck to him. I’m sure he will continue as a celebrity in some capacity.

Top man away from the cameras too. Does a lot for charity and very generous with him time and doesn't seek publicity for it. I used to work for a certain charity and Haye had an affiliation with it and comes across a very decent person. Then again, you never really hear a bad word said about him as a person, apart from when people are selling fights.

Anyway he had a good career. He was a very good cruiserweight. His HW career never really took off that much despite winning a belt.

That said, i'd pick a younger Haye to beat todays champions. He was just unlucky to run into Wlad when Wlad was probably near his prime. Neither guy really did a lot in that fight actually.

Ultimately, some peoples bodies just aren't made for long and strenuous careers and Haye is one of them. At least he's getting out having made plenty of money and in generally in good health.

I was never much of a David Haye fan but that was a great speech and I wish him all the best of luck with his promoting career as well as a happy retirement
