Comments Thread For: Trainer: Jacobs, Derevyanchenko Don't Need To Fight Right Now

With Gennady Golovkin no longer being the IBF middleweight belt-holder, there will be two contender who will soon be fighting for this title. The organization stated that the two leading available contenders will square off for that vacant championship. As you look at their rankings, you see that Sergey Derevyanchenko (who is rated number one) and Danny Jacobs (rated third) are both in the top five.

"As it relates to Jacobs, Rozier doesn't seem to put much stock in any conversations that have him possibly facing Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in September, but he stated - "I'd really like to see Danny and Billy Joe Saunders (the WBO middleweight titlist) tie it up. If Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren can work it out that would be a huge, huge fight." - Rozier

I'm not liking the sound of that at all! Jacobs MAN UP!!! Why would you want Saunders vs. Jacobs over Canelo vs. Jacobs??? I hope Hearn is smarter than Rozier!

Time for Charlo to grab that strap!

It's all coming together nicely for those Texas boys.

There needs to be only one belt per division.

That way if you want to call yourself a world champion you'll have to fight anyone that's in the way. Regardless of trainers, promoters, or tv broadcaster affiliation.

Derechenko vs Charlo should be ordered by IBF.

You know what too, I forgot about this, Jacobs can't make 170 on the next morning weigh in. When he fought GGG he didn't fight for IBF, only the WBA and WBC.

... now Jacobs doesn't want to fight Derevyanchenko... ok... there would be much more money vs Saunders, in the UK...

It will be ordered as soon as Jacobs officially declines the fight (after it's ordered).

We'll be getting that fight by (hopefully) late September.
