I think he's saying he doesn't believe Canelo would fight Jacobs, pretty reasonable assumption.

I guess? Maybe he thinks Canelo and GGG will still make a deal? If they do, then Saunders (or Murata) would be the next best options.

Everything is falling perfect for Charlo. GGG is boxed in and HAS to fight Charlo if he keeps pricing himself out the Canelo fight. WBC already made it clear Charlo is next up if GGG don't want to fight Canelo. After being stripped by IBF GGG would look like the biggest piece of shyt hypocrite and clown if after all those years lying to his fans and the media how it's all about the belts and he loses BOTH because he was too scared to fight his mandatories. Dervy and Jacobs isn't happening both have same trainer and if GGG passes Jacobs is stealing that Canelo fight in Sept and Charlo is bumped up #2 to face dervy for IBF belt.

Charlo is going to sit back let the dust settle and watch all the dominos fall and pick and choose which belt he wants to fight for. If GGG fights Canelo he can go after IBF. If GGG ducks him and Canelo he getting that vacant WBC. GGG has to fight Canelo for 20M or Charlo for 1-3M or lose another belt. hmmm tough choice. lol Explains why GGG is crawling on his knees back to Canelo dropping his demands

He's probably not going to fight Charlo. There no point. He can't be undisputed now so why would he fight him? I'm cool with Charlo but he hasn't raised his profile enough to make it worthwhile. It's going to be the Canelo rematch or Murata in Japan.

In reality, there are 2 ways a fighter can be named #1 or #2, in ANY sanctioning organization.

Way #1 is for some clown like Suiliman or Mendoza to say "fighter A is now the #1 contender". That method is too open to corruption, favoritism, or incompetence.

Way #2 is what the IBF does. 2 fighters in the top 10 must fight in an elimination bout, and the winner gets a #1 or #2 rating. In this case, Derev beat Johnson in an elimination bout. There is no #2 right now because there are not 2 current top 10 contenders willing to fight each other at the moment. Everyone wants to sit around and see what happens first.

Everyone has their own opinions, but personally id rather see a guy actually FIGHT for a #1 or #2 rating than to just have someone appoint them because it suits their financial interests better......
