I don't get it, why would Whyte not fight his eliminators???
I don't get it. Why would he fight Parker, a tougher fight and a fight that doesn't guarantee him a title fight instead of Pulev or Ortiz, which would guarantee him a title fight??
I know why.
He didn't fight ortiz because WBC wouldn't sanction that fight as final eliminator (dominic breazeale is nr 1 mandatory).
And pulev because purse split would be 75 to 25 in favor of pulev, and fight would have to take place in Bulgaria.
Sorry for my bad english
Well the WBC eliminator wouldn't of guaranteed him a title fight any time soon as it wasn't even for the mandatory and with Wilder going almost 3 years before making his first mandatory defence I think he wanted a shot at a title before 2021.
As for the IBF and Pulev, this is the 3rd fighter to pull out if an IBF eliminator with Pulev. Breazeale didn't want it, Miller didn't want it, Whyte clearly didn't want it. Do you know anyone in the IBF rankings willing to fight Pulev for 25% of the split? If the IBF want Pulev involved in an eliminator they will need to trash their 75/25 split rule.
Plus this fight with Parker is on PPV, would any of these other fights been PPV and made Whyte likely a multi million dollar purse, I think not.
Because like most Europeans, he goes after the toughest fight possible
I guess Saunders isn't like most Europeans because he only seems to fight guys GGG already knocked out when he could be fighting Jacobs or Jermall instead.

Worst case, he's cashed out on pay-per-view in a 50/50 fight. British casuals would have expected him to beat Ortiz or Pulev for peanuts in comparison. They were both risky fights with little reward.
