I guess getting sparked by Wilder would keep him from making that money for 10 years. Being the undisputed champ would make him big globally, not just the UK as he is now, but getting that last belt is too risky in his team's eyes.
The pot doesn't exist without both guys. The money he can get elsewhere doesn't come close to the 50 mil he can get with Wilder, but as AJ said he feels that would be "selling his belt", which shows he has no confidence in his ability to win that fight.Comment

Amen....you hit like a King!To piggyback on your “risk free” comment. We get on these forums throw around these numbers and to us, it’s Monopoly money. Totally losing sight of the facts that there’s promoters, networks, venues, investors, etc that are taking financial risks to stage these events.
That’s why to me, it doesn’t make a lot of sense that Hearn didn’t pounce on the $50M guarantee. People throw around the A-side and B-side terms a lot. Citing that the A-side always gets to dictate the terms because they’re the bigger draw, which is true most of the time. But the A-side also usually gets to dictate the terms because they’re the ones putting up more money to stage the event and taking more of a financial risk. That’s why Hearn should pounce on the $50M guarantee. Because essentially, Team AJ will be getting a monster payday without taking any kinda financial risk. Outside of AJ potentially being derailed, this $50M guarantee is probably the sweetest deal I’ve ever seen in all my years as a fight fan. Anyone with a small degree of rationale can clearly see that Team AJ doesn’t want the fight right now.Comment
