What did Loma do to earn his 1st title shot?

He was good enough. He won two Olympic golds. I don't like Loma. Never have. But cut that "earn it" b.s. Why does a fighter have to start out fighting the very worst of the worst and only move up in tiny baby steps. The fact he won a title in his third fight, only proves he deserved it. Boxing isn't supposed to be some lifetime achievement award. By the time a boxer has "earned" his title shot, he's wasted the first half of his prime.

Floyd fought for a title less than two year after turning pro. He was 21 years old. Loma wasted years in the amateurs. The reason there aren't many two-time boxing Olympic gold medalists, is because most turn pro after their first. Loma was 26 when he first fought for a title.

Champions should fight the best. I don't care about how many fights someone has, I care about how good they are. It could be a 22 year old with a normal amateur background, and a couple years of easy pro fights, it could be a 33 year old multi-division champ, it could be a 26 year old in his second fight. The best fight the best. That is what champions are supposed to do and what fans should demand.

Spence woulda broke Brook's face years ago. What did JoJo Dan, Bizier, and Frankie Gavin do to "earn" their title shots, while Spence was kept waiting?

What's to explain vanes was a bum semi retired 154lb joke fight. The gutless wonder refused to fight anyone with a pulse including a half dozen better fighters and his mandatory who all raised their hand willing to fight him even on short notice. The IBF warned him that they wouldn't sanction this fight and it would risk him being stripped. He fought vanes anyway. If he just fights anyone decent the IBF probably allows the fight but GGG refused to move the date or fight anyone decent so strip the clown.

True, GGG last 4 fights: 2 JMWs, 1 WW, and only 1 true MW.

I was thinking the same thing about Canelo being moved into the #2 spot in the IBF rankings. It is currently vacant, and money talks.
