The only fight for Canelo is Saunders else what is he going to do defend his Ring belt? Golovkin will face a mandatory then it is a race between the two to sign a fight vs Saunders. If Golovkin has all the belts then is he worth 50%? If I were him I'd collect all the belts then freeze out red until I got what I thought I deserved.

Canelo isn't making GGG money fighting Spike or Lemieux. Jacobs, Charlo, Saunders, Andrade and Derevyanchenko all beat Canelo. Styles make fights and Oscar knows all are a terrible match-ups for Canelo.

He feels he deserves respect for what happened with Canelo's failed PED tests but he's letting his pride get the best of him. His pride is gonna cost him allot of money!

Losing around $20 million for himself and his team with a 35% split is a big price to pay for pride, but I don't know if it is pride that motivates him. What pride is there in fighting busboys and cab drivers? Methinks he is driven more by jealousy than pride. Maybe he resents that Canelo, who has no belts, is the one calling the shots. Even some of his cheerleaders are taken aback by his stance on this.

Well actually canelo does owe him something. The fact that when they box he doesn't put his life at extra risk by using peds. He owes him a fair fight and in any other business he'd owe him compensation for pulling out of the fight in May for getting caught using peds. Honestly, Canelo vs. Jacobs is a really good replacement fight. The only issue is Jacobs doesn’t stand a chance whatsoever on the scorecards if it goes the distance.

yet its golovkin who avoided a lara fight...and said its his dream to unify yet still hasn't been able to make a deal with saunders....golovkin is 36 and a career MW yet for years has avoided a certain style/type of fighter

meanwhile canelo is 27 and has a pretty impressive resume across 3 classes

My post was in reference to me having doubts that Canelo v Jacobs happens (which we seem to agree on) and how the fact that Canelo fought the much avoided Lara when he was younger isn’t a convince argument to me because in my opinion he was less prone to selective matchmaking then and would fight anyone. Ggg’s resume isn’t really relevant to my point.

Do you agree or disagree that Canelo has become more of a prima Donna since becoming the A side, and does it matter who Golovkin has or hasn’t fought when asking yourself that question?

As it happens ggg also frustrates me, he should take the 60-40 in my opinion as he’s running out of time to build his legacy and years from now measuring him by how good he looked beating B class fighters isn’t going to cut it as true all time great.


If Canelo v Jacobs happens and ggg doesn’t fight a top fighter he’ll rightly get slaughtered on here, vice versa if Canelo fights spike or Lemieux and ggg fights Saunders.
Most interesting scenario though would be Canelo v Jacobs and ggg v Saunders both to get made with the possibility of revisiting Alvarez v Golovkin next May.
