  • Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Canelo-Jacobs Deal in Play, No 50-50 For Golovkin

Oscar De La Hoya insists he won't wait any longer for Gennady Golovkin. Canelo Alvarez's promoter told ESPN.com on Tuesday night that he has abandoned hope of salvaging an Alvarez-Golovkin middleweight championship rematch for September 15. Instead, Golden Boy Promotions president Eric Gomez has sent a formal offer to Daniel Jacobs' promoter, Eddie Hearn, for an Alvarez-Jacobs fight that night.

Honestly, Canelo vs. Jacobs is a really good replacement fight. The only issue is Jacobs doesn’t stand a chance whatsoever on the scorecards if it goes the distance.

Hell yea great fight but tough for Canelo coming off a 1 year layoff. GGG and his team obviously dont want it.

GGG should fight Charlo. Will Charlo accept?

Good for Gennady. Fact is GGG was cheated from a victory last time. Canelo is the one to prove something not mentioning that it was Red the one to fail the tests. So 50-50 is fair all things considered. And you believe Canelo has intention to fight Jacob (LOL). Spike... here we come!

Admire Golovkin for being principled but horrible business decision. If he was offered 60/40 and didn't take it that is just ******.
