    As of June 18, 2006

    1. Floyd
    2. Winky
    3. Pac
    4. Taylor
    5. Hopkins
    6. MAB
    7. Marquez(R)
    8. Hatton
    9. Castillo
    10. Calzaghe

    FYI
I have only one problem with this list.

Hatton, Castillo and Calzaghe should be 7, 8 and 9 respectively and Rafael Marquez should be down at # 10.

Ring is updating this list according to the fighters recent fights and results, same question as before.

Who has Rafael Marquez fought in the last 2 years and what has he accomplished?

i don't watch fights to hear the announcers i watch the fight. lampley, merchant and whoever they working at the time never influences who i think wins fights, so you can tell me winky won the fight until your face turns blue, i seen taylor winning the fight but i can accept a draw since it was a close fight.

        Why Castillo above Calzaghe?

If Winky is number 2, Taylor proved he is top 5, not only beating Hopkins twice, but drawing with Winky.
Should the have Hopkins above him??
          Obviously not.
He is almost there by default.

That's how Ring put it and I don't have anything against it. My point is #8, 9 and 10 should move up one slot and Rafael Marquez who doesn't have any significant activity for the last 2 years should be moved back down to 10.

Yeah, i just wanted your opinions on why JLC should be above Calzaghe.
Personally id have Hatton at 7, Joe C at 8, Raf at 9 and castillo at 10.

I agree though, those two wins over Hopkins are what put him up, not his draw with Winky.

Whatever man. Here's the conclusion I've come to:

Everybody agrees on one thing...that there were several very close rounds in the fight. Now, depending upon your disposistion and what you're looking for you gave those close rounds to one or the other. If you were impressed moreso with Taylor's power and the way he moved Winky around, even though Winky was blocking most of the shots....more than likely, you gave those rounds to Taylor. If you were watching HBO and bought into it everytime Jim Lamply peed his pants over a Taylor flurry....more than likely, you gave those rounds to Taylor. If you were looking for clean punches landed, ring generalship, effective aggression & defense...you gave those rounds to Wright.

Because of those close rounds and the desparity in public perception this fight could have been scored anywhere from a narrow victory for Taylor to a relatively easy win for Wright. So, the draw is logical, even though I wholeheartedly believe Wnky won the fight. You believe whatever you want.

I stil hate that they continue to leave out the HW's. Toney should be on this list. Or even Wlad, both have skills.
