This is a bit of a strange comment because Arum seems to have some kind of weird crush on Horn. I'm sure the Bobfather has prepared for all eventualities, I'm sure that old rat never stops scheming.

Price wasn't the away fighter, Povetkin was! It was in the UK remember?I actually scored the fight with Pac a draw. Though Horn benefitted massively with the refereeing in that fight.
Horn pushed the rules and it helped him win a hometown decision with hometown advantages.
I doubt he gets away with half as much leading in with his head in Vegas, some of the refereeing in recent big fights have really ruined some world title fights lately. Kovalev-Ward II and the Joshua-Parker fights spring to mind.
It's corrupt refereeing that's really been annoying me lately, it literally stops the away fighter from launching sustained attacks and ruins the spectacle.
Howard Foster running in to save Povetkin getting knocked out on his feet before Price could get to him and giving him a standing 8 count. Standing counts are for the amateurs not the pro's.
That's how I know Joshua-Wilder isn't happening anytime soon.
Forget about standing counts .... the rules of boxing state that if a fighter falls into the ropes after taking a punch, that's a KD and a count should be given. Povetkin was stunned and fell into the ropes and the ref followed the rules, even though it benifited the away fighter, not the homer.Last edited by kafkod; 06-04-2018, 03:34 AM.Comment

How is so? Horn was suppose to be a soft touch for Bob's cash cow. He had Horn sign a second fight option as an "insurance policy". Since Pac didn't wanna do the job for Crawford, Horn is gonna do it much cheaper for him, due to the optoin.
Bob is always on some Rothschild level **** when it comes to boxingComment

"I feel like I am a pawn"
You don't say Jeff? lol.
Horn like the dude in prison who knows they out to get him, but he's not the most resourceful guy + he don't know if they are gonna shank him, **** him in the shower, jump him in the yard or slice his jugular during a riot so basically he's f#cked while knowing he's f#cked & really is just waiting for the f#cking to start so it can end & be over.Comment

Has Bob been buddy buddy with Horn as of late? I know he was squeezing his cheeks a lot after the Manny W & hyping him more than I expected to, but I feel like the honeymoon ended with that awhile ago & Bob knows the score & the blueprint was made months ago & the die cast.
That said I think Bob is too old in the game to NOT prepare for all possible outcomes cuz sh^t happens sometimes despite it not suppose to happen so I'm sure his based are covered.
I actually suspect the best possible outcome for next time around would be for Jeff to win. Crawford winning just means he's likely gonna be avoided by Manny & beating up lesser TR 147lbers as every fan talks about Crawford vs the PBC 147lb roster. Horn winning probably equals the Manny rematch which might be the best money of the realistic next fights that could be made.Comment

This ungrateful little chit is trying to promote himself as a victim when he was given a gift win over a legend and PPV superstar. Because of that gift decision, he has been able to angle himself into a payday he doesnt deserve against the lineal champ from 140 whom would never have considered fighting him if he didnt get a gift win over Pacquiao.
Yeah youre a victim Horn and top rank really screwed you over with two back to back paydays you didnt deserve.Comment

I haven't got anything concrete or anything, but consider this article, in particular the image in it:Has Bob been buddy buddy with Horn as of late? I know he was squeezing his cheeks a lot after the Manny W & hyping him more than I expected to, but I feel like the honeymoon ended with that awhile ago & Bob knows the score & the blueprint was made months ago & the die cast.
Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum has denied he is disrespecting Brisbane world champion Jeff Horn ahead of his title defence in Las Vegas. Horn is in the final stages of preparation for his welterweight title defence against Terence Crawford at the MGM Grand on June 9.
And then there's the odd fact that Arum arranged for Pacquiao, his own guy and one of the sport's biggest ever superstars, to travel to Horn's own back yard in Brisbane to fight. Maybe that was just the way to make the most money but it's still bizarre for the champion to go to his opponent's back yard when there was such a gulf in the amount of clout each fighter held. There have been other articles that make me think that Arum has a strange soft spot for Horn, both in the leadup to this and in the aftermath of the Pacquiao fight but I can't find them right now. In particular I'm pretty sure that Arum readily agreed with the decision in the Pacquiao fight despite there being such a big call of controversy, which seems odd because surely if anyone should be taking the side of a fighter on the wrong end of a controversial call and doing damage control it should be the promoter.
I think Arum sees Horn as marketable in Australia and is just trying to court him into his stable (honestly the way it's been going it almost seems like he's already there) and is playing nice with him to make it so.Comment

The state government of Queensland put up a bunch of money for Pac to fight in Brisbane.
It was no stitch up. Was just attractive financial terms.Comment

True, but I still think it's odd. Was the offer that good that it'd beat Pacquiao fighting Horn in Macao or something? If so, fair enough.Comment
