The funny thing is that RJJ in his prime was regularly blasted by the boxing media. Not just for his opposition...but because they thought him a boring risk-averse fighter in the ring. Weirdos.

Amazing fighter who earned the right to carry on as long as he wanted. The last 10 or so years don't change my opinion of him at all.

-First fighter since Bob Fitzsimmons to win titles from MW to HW
-Only fighter to start career at JMW and win a HW title
pac-tards would claim he wouldnt rank.

I hope your joking. Roy bounced Joe off the canvas when he was shot to ****. He would have won on knock downs alone in his prime. Joe was a good fighter but he fought Roy and Hop at the right time.

Lol, Roy wasnt a heavyweight man but Id be willing to give 50/50 odds Roy could stay away from him until he blew his load and win a UD.

                      What are you talking about?

Roy added mass and dropped body fat to fight Ruiz. He hired Mackie Shilstone, a well respected sports scientist/strategist in order to gain the weight. Mackie has helped literally hundreds of athletes over the last 30 years, including helping Michael Spinks when he moved up to HW to fight Larry Holmes.

Roy didn't walk around at 190 pounds back then, but even if he had've done, he'd have had a different composition to what he had against Ruiz.

Yes, he did have to burn muscle in order to go back down to fight Antonio Tarver at LHW. Burning muscle at an advanced age can have damaging effects on the body. Chris Byrd, Antonio Tarver and Chad Dawson also suffered the same fate.
