If Roy Jones retired in 2003.

What if Roy Jones retired after beating Ruiz in 2003? Where would he rank all-time?

-Wins over Hopkins, Toney, Griffin, Hill and Ruiz
-First fighter since Bob Fitzsimmons to win titles from MW to HW
-Only fighter to start career at JMW and win a HW title

There really was no reason for him to continue after Ruiz and if he'd retired then, he'd be a shoo-in for Top 10 All Time ranking.

Unfortunately, most fighters never retire on top.

I don't think his losses should diminish any of his accomplishments he's still an ATG

I think once he's been retired for a while, people will start to focus on his achievements but it's hard to see it all objectively when he's still been somewhat active and getting bounced off the ring by the likes of Enzo Maccarinelli.

Look at Tyson and some other fighters, when we look back on their careers now, we're not looking at things like Tyson getting stopped by Danny Williams anymore.

Jones is an ATG and once the dust settles on his career, that's what will be remembered

I rate Jones very highly even with the post-prime losses. I dont count that sht.

He is up there near Ray Robinson and Leonard.

                  Obviously you're talking about Tarver.

He ruined his body though going from the 193lbs of muscle back down to making 175lbs...he was never the same fighter after doing that.

Yup. Most invincible fighter that I have ever seen. I honestly thought that no one, during any era could have beaten him during his prime.
