I had my butler type it.

It's a level of hyperbole and lunacy rarely posted on NSB by posters who are not considered professional trolls.
You're the one arguing that clauses are irrelevant to the legitimacy or otherwise of a deal:

I'm employing hyperbole to illustrate just how incredibly idiotic that viewpoint is. Possibly the most ridiculous argument I've seen here and I've read through the Canelo thread.

Do I need to draw you a picture instead? Try this then. Any agreement needs to be judged on its totality including each and every clause. Otherwise a fighter may be committing financial suicide, signing a deal that precludes further opportunities, compromises his pre-fight preparations or the actual fight itself. If you know boxing history you'll know of examples of each and every one of these things happening to badly advised boxers.

It's not up to other fighters to protect Joshua's sponsorship deals and handshake agreements with vendors etc.
No, that's Eddie Hearn's responsibility and that's precisely what he's done and what you've castigated him for.

Dude, it is what it is. Joshua would rather fight at home where his energy is bound to be different and the crowd can will him to get off the canvas if necessary. Nothing wrong with that. It's the Joshua fans who posted all that bs who should be embarrassed.
I think you first need to brush up on exactly what a clause is in a legally binding document before you worry about others embarassing themselves in public.

Yeah I agree with you for what its worth. I think that offer was strictly designed as an opening salvo to put Wilder's team on the back foot. It wasn't viable, Finkel would've been trashing his own rep if he told Wilder to sign it.

All that bs you typed and it comes down to this....legitimacy and acceptability are mutually exclusive. Simply put, a legit (legally sound, reasonable) offer can be unacceptable due to sponsorship conflicts, date, location, catchweight, etc. Next time try reading comprehension, it goes a long way in this world. Never once said a clause was irrelevant.

Listen...don't get your posters mixed up. I haven't castigated Hearn for operating in his fighters/pockets best interest. I was castigating the Joshua fans who can't seem to call the situation as it is. I'm now castigating you for your last two posts.

You "little" guys get your panties in a wad trying to prove a point and argue and can't even keep the story line straight. DO BETTER.

No reason except that Wilder's side guaranteed $50 MILLION dollars for AJ for this fight; a fight that Hearn repeatedly insisted was worth only $40 million. That guarantee is contingent on the fight being in Vegas. These guys are supposedly prize fighters, yet you have one side tap dancing to actually avoid by far the biggest payday of his career. Only a supreme amount of fear (on Hearn's part) could override the normal instinct to jump at that amount of money. Good grief, you guys are taking this A-side **** a bit too far and its starting to make the whole lot of you (not just AJ and Hearn) look ridiculous. Honestly, cut it out. It's getting way beyond embarrassing now.

            • The thing is AJ is clearly the a side, he can earn 15 million fighting anyone, what does Wilder earn? 3 million?

Wilder is in a similar position to GGG imo, I know he has a belt that AJ wants but he'll probably still have it in 18 months or whatever.

If Wilder wants the AJ fight now which I think he clearly does then he's got to make concessions.

Which guy needs it more though? AJ goes away and fights other guys. If he wins he makes big money, continues to improve and gain experience whilst Wilder ages. If AJ loses then he goes to rematch and Wilder is stuck making less and then maybe has to negotiate for far less money with Povetkin who may demand he goes to Russia.

                  • There'd be a rematch clause if AJ lost but not if he won I'm guessing!?

If so wording it as doing the 2nd fight in the US is disingenuous at best, worse...misleading.

It makes more money in the US so you should be doing it there and promoting AJ in that market with a big win over it's champ.
