GGG ain't getting the 50/50 and if GGG fans really wanted to see him fight Canelo they would side with Canelo and tell GGG to take the 35%. They know for a fact Canelo is not giving him 50/50 and he doesn't deserve half the money.

Any GGG fan that says he deserves 50/50 and should hold out for it really don't want to see the fight.

Im a GGG fan urging him to take 40 to 45 percent. If he turns down say 43% I will blame him

It isn't a mandatory. Best I can tell it counts as a voluntary defense but the WBC exercised their discretionary right to waive GGGs mandatory obligation for this cycle. At the time it did not appear that this was conditional upon him fighting Canelo (which is why everyone was talking about Derevyanchenko instead of Charlo) however it now appears that they are trying to retroactively reverse that decision in order to put pressure on Golovkin to accept the proffered 35% from GBP.

I ain't seen the view I posted stated unambiguously anywhere, but it seems to fit the evidence as best I've been able to establish. If you can find out something that says different I'd be glad to see it, all I'm trying to do is get some clarity on the situation.
