The president of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaiman, is urging Gennady Golovkin (38-0-1, 34 KOs) to reconsider his position with respect to the negotiations for a rematch with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs). The two sides were negotiating the terms for a planned rematch on September 15th in Las Vegas.

Easy solution: GGG accept the current split and charge an additional nominal fee detailing the relative costs he and his team incurred due to the fight being canceled earlier this month.

"What happened is that Golovkin is asking for the modification of an agreement that they agreed upon to fight each other in May. I do not know what amounts [they agreed to], but my feeling is that he is sacrificing pounds for a few cents," said Sulaiman to ESPN Deportes.

"If your interest is to show that you are the best, that you are the champion and will beat Canelo, you have everything ready to sign [the contract] and get into the ring on September 15... that would be the recommendation that I would give to him."

GGG ain't getting the 50/50 and if GGG fans really wanted to see him fight Canelo they would side with Canelo and tell GGG to take the 35%. They know for a fact Canelo is not giving him 50/50 and he doesn't deserve half the money.

Any GGG fan that says he deserves 50/50 and should hold out for it really don't want to see the fight.

This mFer is twice as shady as his pops. Who the hell is Sulaiman to put pressure on a fighter to accept a deal? This guy has such a hard on for Canelo that he's going to find some creative way to strip GGG and hand that green belt to Canelo. Sulaiman has big money plans with Canelo and Golden Boy. If GGG takes that deal, he had better be sure to KO Canelo twice or he's getting robbed. IF GGG knocks Canelo on his ass, the ref will probably turn to GGG and count him out. No way in hell will Golovkin get a fair shake in a rematch.
