how can you sit here and say that tarver won that first fight. the only time he threw at jones is when he went to the ropes. there were a few rounds when jones went to the ropes and tarver didnt go after him. mcgirt was telling him to be more aggresive and he wouldnt. mcgirt even had him losing yes he did. mcgirt said it. but thats besides the point. roy even said when debella knocked him down that he had a feeling something was going to happen that sooner or later he was going to get caught. us roy fans can except that he lost. everyone loses unless your rocky. but to say that tarver would be roy in his prime is a joke. you say why bc he beat richard hall. WHO HAS TARVER BEATEN????? if roy has faced nothing fighter than so has tarver. reality check they are in the same weight class. roy beat griffen once and was going to beat him the first time. he has beaten harding which by the way tarver lost too. has tarver beaten toney????? a prime toney now a blown up burger king eaten toney. no he has not beaten toney. he was not the first to beat toney. who has tarver faced aswell???????? if roy faced a bunch of nobodys than so did tarver end of story. diego and tarver

I still havent heard from one logical person that tarver won that fight.
Even Deigo had it a draw, and we know how much he loves Tarver.

          Fight 1 = 8-4 rounds.

In his prime Roy works Tarver. Tarver was and is overrated and basically at best a B fighter.

if roy wasnt concerned about his legacy.. he would wreck tarver..

think about it.. if they fought in a gym, off the record. jones would destroy tarver.. if u really really watched the last fight.. jones DIDNT FIGHT.. im not a huge RJJ fan.. his goal was not to get knockd out.. tarver posed a huge threat.. the only round roy fought was the 5th..

well he didn't pull out of a fight, but he was calling Lewis out for a while. Lewis said on the telecast where he fought Klitschko that he would fight Roy. Roy never responded after that. He shut up real fast.

After the second Tarver Roy fight when Taver KOed him:

                  Lennox Lewis said:

                  - "I feel for Roy, I've been there so I understand the sadness he's feeling now. But in boxing there has to be a time when you lose, and Roy shouldn't get down on himself. It's like falling off a horse. And what you do is, you get up and ride again if you want to, which is what I did.

Or if the hunger isn't there anymore, you retire I honestly believe that Roy would beat Tarver in a rematch. But no matter what happens next, Roy is a great fighter

There will be arrogant ignorant people who try to take credit away from him and belittle his accomplishments.
But to be as good as he's been for as long as he's been: ask the fighters. We know how great Roy Jones is"

                  -Lennox Lewis

That should pretty much sum up it all up.

I wonder because of this fact. RJJ keeps on fighting I would hate to see yet another great fighter keeping on fighting way past his prime.

Lewis and Roy were supposed to fight in 2003, before Roy ever considered fighting Tarver as an opponent. Sorry to negate your whole argument.
