Are they leaving Haymon though? PBC is pretty much over in its intended format, now its Showtime Boxing. Whats to say after 2 years, Hearn makes a success, and Haymon says "You know what I'll take everyone there"

Nail on the head. They are not leaving Al Haymon, Haymon is the manager and Hearn is the promoter. If the numbers work and Al is the stand up guy everyone says he is then his fighters will sign with Eddie. Its that simple. Nothing to do with loyalty to Al Haymon.

Well yeah who knows. That would be cool if so.

4 months isn't that long in setting up a fight and for a new venture more time is better for both DAZN (so people know who is showing the fights and fighters) and the fight so people know where to go to watch it. Plus if one name comes out at time that gives each name shine and keeps this whole deal in the news longer. If all the names are dropped at once some will get lost and seem lesser in value and while it will be one bigger shot it will be one and done, so I find that whole we will release the names at once a convenient excuse or at the very least something that is forced because anyone worth mentioning solo hasn't signed yet.

Even if not officially released somebody would say something about being signed up to it, because somebody is getting drunk will then run their mouth about their deal on instagram.



To answer the question though he would be hurting bad if he can't get Haymon guys. He would have to be creative and work with others who have guys but once it's start getting split up like that a few million that includes producing the televised aspects of the fights is not going that far. Hearns problem is a microcosm of DAZN's issues they need stuff others already have the rights to, they need to get their hands on that stuff which will be costly. If they can not they do not have that many options to actually make it work.

It’s hard for me too see how can Hearn make any dent in the US boxing scene.
I’m 21 African American so I can give a clear landscape of the young kids in America and how they look at boxing and I’m in local gyms around the dmv everyday talking too people most days. And in all honesty the people I talk in head ****ers ( top dc gym) say. let’s say Hearn signs porter, Mikey Garcia, Keith Thurman and couple more names . All the youngsters my age isn’t going too tune in too that.. I’m sorry I don’t see old people or young people ready too shed 20$ a month for dazn when we already have thousands of channels the only way people would buy if Hearn could actually buy up the whole USA market.. I can say off my social media alone the only boxers young people tune in for in America are Canelo, GGG, Wilder, Lomo, tank and Broner. Maybe there’s other young posters my age on this site that can try too really show you guys that they aren’t that much boxers the youth watch it’s a fact. So idk what plan he is trying too make but the next two years are gonna be hard too attract the youngsters or hardcore fans.

but the other thing that I really try too rap my head around is what is the long term plan in the USA Al Haymon and Michael Sampson has a really big influence in the black boxing communities. You have the Dmv I know for a fact most top prospects are either lining up with al or going with gbp and it’s crazy too say Oscar has a influence too in black boxing communities.
Then you have the mid west areas Chicago, Michigan , Missouri , Ohio
The down south areas Alabama Louisiana, Georgia, Texas
Then the east coast you have the DMV, Philly, Baltimore,

So now if Hearn is trying too play the long haul games how does he sign the top prospects in those regions. Most of the young guns coming up look up too al not just for boxing but what he has done with artists and movie stars. Most these young prospects parents know of Al Haymon most of the black parents born from the 70s too 80s went too al’s concerts (al Haymon is actually known more for his music days then boxing ) so they trust him and Michael Sampson knows damn near everybody in the black boxing communities he’s like that one cool ass uncle everyone knows. so you won’t get past them before you even reach Hearn.
So how does Hearn even make a dent in those areas. And don’t even get me started on the young Hispanics That’s all Oscar so what do you do for the young guys coming up?
These are my thoughts for y’all . I doubt its passed by Haymon that a sports streaming platform could be the future. Just this time hes not taking on the financial burden, on what lets face it is an experiment. Its still his fighters, just Hearn is promoting them on this platform, instead of his other promoters on Showtime. As I said a few posts back, if Hearn makes a success of it, and streaming is the future, the infrastructure is there for Haymon to enter with the rest of his fighters.

Oh okay. I just want it too work it because I love boxing I’m no insider I really get all my knowledge from you guys or the gym. your not going too get 500k too a million subscribers with that line up not one guy has done a Ppv so how do you get people too shed out the money when there all regular TV fighters. I could be wrong And want too be wrong but I could see it hurting more than helping if no one ends up buying it. Then the two stars who would actually help him like Broner or wilder who do the most views for Haymon aren’t going too Hearn.. so your telling me people are gonna pay 20 a month for Keith , Mikey, Charlo bros. he doesnt have to actually "sign" fighters in order to put them on TV. With the kinds of rights fees he's getting, he could buy up purse bid fights and then fill the undercards with his own guys. Or he could work with Arum, Golden Boy, Duva, Shaeffer, or any other non-PBC promoter who has fighters but not enough tv dates......

Edit: Arum probably has enough tv dates with his ESPN deal, but nobody else does......

True but isn't freelancing fighters going to be a whole other level of struggle & stress if he doesn't sign up guys? Would seem like it would be.

And he'll be a slave to what ABC Groups wanna put together. And he'd need to continual win bids, while also getting value which seems a thin line to skate.

Seems a bit much to ask for Hearn to do this w/o signing fighters to me, but I wouldn't disagree with you thats its doable.

True. Thats there biggest battle in the US market obviously. There is gonna be a flip to streaming sooner or later doe BUT its not quite here all the way yet. And it might not happen for another year or three or five or eight years no knows exactly so there is risk in being too soon or making wrong moves that cost too much, etc & so on.

There major uphill battle will be getting people flipping over to a streaming platform doe I agree.
