There is nothing good or positive about Canelo and GBP in all this. Nothing. It baffles me that they have people that claim to be fans of the sport still defending them. You can’t be a true fan of boxing and try and support their BS.

55-45 in favor of Canelo should be the split.
Those saying Golovkin accepted the 65-35 split the last fight is irrelevant.
Honestly, Golovkin should just face his mandatory and then take a big payday with Murata. Everyone knows Canelo lost the first fight and everyone knows he ruined the rematch.
Why play games with a Team of Divas?

If you were ok with him fighting Vanes for no damn reason, then fighting his Mandos should be great.Last edited by BDG; 05-27-2018, 01:54 PM.

Its funny how we all, with zero knowledge of what's going on behind doors and what rationale is being used, are so comfortable with deciding how much money a fighter should be making
But anyway.. we seem to be focused a bit too much on GGG while leaving Canelo out of equation. Let's look at this from imaginary Canelo's perspective. First of all, nobody in the MW division is going to help him generate as much PPV and money as GGG. Especially with the bad blood, cancelled fight and PEDs. He will make much more than GGG would without Canelo in any event, but still not as much as with GGG. This difference gives more bargaining power to GGG, but it should also allow Canelo to compromise more.
Here is what I don't get. Canelo believes he won the first fight. He believes he can beat him. Why not sacrifice this 10-15% for the legacy and even greater future profits? If Canelo beats GGG, he is one step away from becoming an undisputed champion in the MW division. And, let's be honest, BJS will sell that belt probably without a fight. And, further, is anyone here who really thinks BJS is going to beat Canelo? In 2019 Canelo, if he makes this sacrifice, can become the undisputed. He does not need to painstakingly collect belts one after another like GGG did. No, its all there lined up for him ready for a grab. And once he's become undisputed, coupled with his already massive PPV power, he will be able to command any split he wants because at that point Mayweather would envy his leverage. He will not be the A side. He will become the Alpha and Omega of boxing. All it takes is cut short in one fight. And its not like he will starve doing this, right?..
Unless, of course, he does not have the confidence to beat him. Then none of the above matters. And I can understand how demotivating it must be: landing your best shots practically flush and a second later your opponent is still in your face trying to pulverize you.
If I had to sacrifice something for a real chance to grab something I never had and most only dream of, I'd do it. Why wouldn't Canelo? A "face of boxing" with no belts (and with no ambition to have them) and PED reputation. What a face that is.
