It can apply to any fighter. It really has nothing to do with their purse. They may get a share of the gate as well, or a site fee in certain instances. There are various ways to obtain money outside of your purse. The advantage of paying a promoter a flat fee is that the fighter can now dig into some of the revenue streams that would go into the promoter’s pockets. That’s if you’re not tied to the promoter.
Stephen Espinoza explains why that contract is a slave contract.

No, it doesn't only apply to Haymon fighters, but it's more likely with Haymon fighters because he's a manager, not a promoter, and it's his job to maximize their revenue. A promoter would have less incentive to assist fighters with this kind of creative accounting.
We'll never know for sure. I would assume an undercard fighter like Charlo is being paid a lot closer to the listed purse than a main event A-side fighter like Broner. But anything is possible. Haymon has his war chest and can pay guys whatever he has to pay them to make sure they don't leave him.So how big of a number is the difference with less established fighters? Charlos reported purse for centeno was 500k. Jacobs mocked him by saying that he still didnt touch a million. So I reckon He doesnt earn double the amount of money in actual purse like broner?
Not always. Depends on the situation. Let's say a promoter with no connection to the fighters wins the purse bid, then yes, those are real numbers. Or, the promoter of one fighter wins, the number for the fighter whose promoter didn't win the bid, that number will be real. While Im already on the topic lol. The numbers for purse bids have to be the real purses, right?
But for the promoter that won, his fighter's number often isn't real for a couple reasons.
Let's say it's a 75/25 purse bid and you have the fighter getting 75%. You can bid a massive number to make sure you win, while making a secret deal with your fighter to only pay them a specific amount. An amount lower than what they'd technically be entitled to under the bid, but because they're cooperating with you, you can afford to bid a massive number since you won't actually have to pay it.
So for instance, you make a deal with your fighter to pay him 500k. You bid 1 million. You owe the losing fighter 250k, you pay your fighter the 500k promised, and you're only in for 750k instead of the 1 million you bid. But bidding 1 million is what allowed you to win control of the fight to give your fighter the best chance of winning the fight. So your fighter gladly cooperated with you so that you could make a larger bid.
Now let's swap those positions. Let's say you have the fighter only getting 25%. You may say to that fighter, don't worry, I'll pay you 500k to take the fight. You bid 1 million and owe the other fighter 750k, your fighter is really only owed 250k but you made a deal to pay them 500k, and you're in on the fight for 1.25 million. This is done to convince your fighter to take the fight even though it's been ordered at 75/25.Comment

Because it's significantly less than what he's getting. What part of that is confusing to you?
Hearn got 1B to play with and he's lowballing prospective clients. It's insulting and bad business. Hearn doesn't really have a great name yet and he's tarnishing what image is out there.

Broner issue is not promotion, he can do that himself and honestly it is nothing Eddie can do for him that he can't do on his own. His issue is in the ring, he has to find ways to win BIG FIGHTS! He Freezes in big fights and for some reason refuse to let his hands go or he let his hands go too late.
However, it is other fighters who could use a Eddie Hearn right now, for example Demetrius Andrade should be Tweeting at Eddie like he was Tweeting at GBP for a fight.Comment
