NEWARK, New Jersey Gennady Golovkin left a hearing that lasted more than 4 hours Tuesday still uncertain if he'll remain the IBF's middleweight champion. Daryl Peoples, president of the IBF, told BoxingScene.com that the IBF has 10 business days from Tuesday to rule whether it'll uphold its initial decision, which ordered Golovkin to make a mandatory defense against Sergiy Derevyanchenko next or give up his IBF title. Regardless, negotiations are ongoing for the Golovkin-Canelo Alvarez rematch to be rescheduled for September 15 in Las Vegas.

Right now to decide if GGG will be stripped or fight Derevyanchenko. Lol he's fat but that's the word right now, bros.

Golovkin should just fight Dereyvanchenko, it's sorta not what I want to see I'd rather see Dereyvanchenko prove himself against a top 5 guy before it like maybe Jacobs/Charlo.
Makes more sense for GGG to focus attention fully on BJS.

Actually that (if Golovkin lets the IBF title go) would be a good thing for anyone. Belts are not that important for the Canelo rematch right now, and Derevyanchenko would get an opportunity to fight against a top level opponent (someone else willing and available) for the vacant title.
