what's worse is the fight gets blacked out in other regions cuz of the ppv. does me watching the damn fight on the west coast take away from ppv sales? I didn't even see the ppv offered anywhere by my provider either. those ****ty regional ppvs leave me with no option at all for watching the fight.

most stevenson fights arent shown in Britisch columbia canada because it would be on a station that is also in ontario and quebec.
the ppv option I dont think exist in bc but it MIGHT have an online ppv

That was on channel 4 or 5 something one of the main channels in the UK. Putting fury on PPV would be a crime

Not great numbers tbh. Was a fairly solid card and fight in my option, it was on sky sports for free in the UK though I’m sure

yes, you are right. It is challenging to be a fan in Canada. I look at it almost like a sport to itself just to follow it. take care , bro...did you go to the fight? I thought there would be way more people there.

I may have gone to the fight, had I realized it was actually in Toronto! I also may not have, because I'm poor lol
But I did not have to miss it...The Showtime app is not supposed to be available to Canadians, but for whatever reasons, they still let me subscribe and use the service.

I would be shocked if Showtime expected more. Boxing to them is a hook to get subscribers, and they I think realize it is the sum of the parts more than any one match. Boxing fans will keep Showtime because they know Showtime will broadcast a good number of fights. None of the fighters on this split bill are household names, and only boxing fans would have been excited for this matchup. I would have guessed higher numbers, but I am the one they aim this for.

For all my whining about the ESPN+ streaming app, I am actually really close to getting my family talked into letting me drop HBO (at least until Game of Thrones comes back, the compromise) and picking it up instead. Showtime is not going anywhere off my TV. Without GoT, the boxing just isn't good enough as a hook by itself to keep it on, and we are not in love with anything else so it has become expendable in my household. So, Stevenson/Jack did it's job regardless of ratings.

If "they" really want Boxing to flourish in Canada
they should stop trying to sell TV-quality fights as PPV. Canadians are not rubes to be taken advantage of. They sell Stevenson and David Lemieux fights as PPV events, and then they wonder why boxing is not more popular here. It's been this way as long as I've been a fan. They used to try to sell 'Hercules Kyvelos' fights on PPV here. Ridiculous.

the fight wasn't great the biased ref ruined the fight. HBO has the better TV shows Thats always been the case .

Relax guys lmao...the fight did better numbers than the Danny Garcia fight, and only slightly worse numbers than Mikey Garcia and Errol Spence...the sky is not falling.
