i think benn can break toney's body up and make the head fall by mid-rounds where he catches him, james tends to allow opponents to lean onto him and nigel is the last guy james should want to be close enough because benn had a terrific two-fisted body attack in his armoury. benn would eat some shots, but his body attack would win him the day.

james would beat eubanks, sure eubanks was awkward but in the last minute of rounds he got sloppy and thats where james can shoot his punches in and steal rounds. toney had better technique, and his left hooks to the body would slow eubanks down. they were both slick in their own ways, and eubanks looked almost impossible to beat over four rounds, but i see toney coming into his own in the last third of the fight. at a steady 168, toney had good enough stamina to punch for three minutes of each round. eubanks could barely punch for one minute of a round, especially in the second half of a fight.

I've just watched the Toney Jirov fight and going by that Id fear for Benn more than Eubank! You could say Benn hit very hard, and he did!

But Toney was very hard to hit cleanly and even when you did it didnt matter. Even the biggest punching heavies are going to have trouble knocking him out. I think Benn would have give his all but stopped by the ref before the half waay stage

Exactly. Bozo and the rest of the crew calling Eubank ******ed and saying he didn't know where he was just simply haven't seen him much. The guy is very intelligent, but very eccentric.

As for Toney, he was basically just doing a poor man's version of Ali. "I'll fight them both on the same night" and "all other fighters are bums" etc.... that's just rehashing Ali verbatim.

It was definitely funny, but I think Eubank and Benn came out of it looking better and showing far more class.

Theres nothing wrong with laughing, it's funny, i agree, but my worry is that too many people are laughing with Toney rather than laughing at him. It says a lot about the people doing it i think. I don't want to get too deep, but thats my observation.

Im laughing with Toney because im from the ****** and talk like that is nothing new to me, its common place, being able to talk like that and back it up is something that is highly respected in my book. You can make all the observations you want, people respect someone who can run their mouth and back it up. Its boxing, its a game of beating the **** out of your opponent, there is a time for showing class and there is a time for disrespect, at that point, was a time for disrespect.

What..you think people who respect Toney for doing that **** are somehow lower in intelligence/class than possibly you? Get outta here with that ****, different people find different things funny, different people respect different kinds of people. Well i've seen a lot of boxers from poor backrounds not having to resort to that kind off stuff. It's just about the individual person, not a whole backround of people. A few guys that spring to mind are the likes of David Tua, George Foreman, Danny Williams etc, and the two guys in the clip, Eubank and Benn, conducting themselves in a gentlemanly manner.
It's just about the type of person you are, and Toney is trash.
