Exactly that's my point, he was quick to disregard the WBO title but then fought at a later date for 'similar' honours which are still regarded as 'minor' World titles.
Maybe you missed the first part of my post regarding that:
Not really, because he nor anyone else talked about them or suggested they were the real deal.
The announcer asked him, and it was a good response for the early 90's. These guys fight for lesser known ABC titles in every fight, but they don't mention them in TV interviews.
lol, ive not seen this before. does anybody have the whole progamme ??
i do think eubank would of beaten toney because he would'nt press him, he'd box from range & move away, eubanks complex foot movements & escape moves would give toney absolute hell who basically could only perform to his capabilities when u brought the fight 2 him which allowed him to use the best tools he had (eg inside counterpunchin & flurries wile leanin back & stuff )
eubank did earn somethin like £ 15 million though carryin the wbo belt, & was'nt it one of the four sanctionin bodies from when it first formed (wba broke in two?)?

Regardless, it was FAR from a credible title at that time.
Can somebody explain to me why Toney never fought them? Just curious.
Benn signed with King and Showtime, where Toney was with HBO and Arum.
Toney did want to come to England and fight Eubank in 1992, but Eubank asked for £1million and that was the end of that (Toney wasn't well-known enough back then). Toney was though pencilled in as the last fight on Eubank's World Tour - but nothing ever goes to plan in life.

Yeah, the WBO was on a level playing field with WBC, WBA and IBF as soon as it was introduced.
