Other than stopping Tureano Johnson, who Curtis Stevens also stopped, what has Sergiy done? The only reason I can think of to fight Derevyanchenko is because the IBF arbitrarily said so. There is nothing in his resume to support him going to the front of the queue that I can see. Canelo is still the priority for September, period.

Golovkin has less than 2 rounds more ring time than Canelo. Not an issue.

Fight Derevyanchenko or vacate. It's that simple. No one gets a pass for this bull**** maneuvering. I don't see a problem with fighting him in June/early July given that Vanes was iced in 2. If they wait for Canelo and he calls for a tune-up first, GGG should be stripped for not fighting Derevyanchenko this year.

Golovkin said that only 10% chance of Canelo rematch happening. I think this 10% is stronger than the 90% of possibly fighting Derevyanchenko. Wasn't he fighting for legacy? He's a businessman just as Canelo.

Pretty simple:

1. IF the IBF orders and enforces the sergiy fight (while not allowing any other fights, whether it's a unification with Saunders or his rematch with Canelo) then GGG has to fight him in order to keep the belt

2. If he's able to keep the belt and still face a Saunders or Canelo, then GGG should and will do that. If he's able to make more money while keeping the belt, that's a no brainer.

Many people who don't like Gennady will take their anger out on him and say he's afraid of Sergiy. When in reality, they should redirect their anger at IBF president Daryl Peoples for allowing it.

Gennady is not under any moral obligation to fight anyone that isnt an enforced fight. Boxers will try to get away with as much as they can within the confines of the rules. Gennady is no different. We don't always like boxers to take shortcuts, but they all do.

And no one SHOULD blame a guy who is 36 yrs of age for going after a big money fight. They may call him a hypocrite (I would as well), but they'd understand. And everyyy boxer I know has been hypocritical one time or another in their careers. It happens.

Exactly, i don't know why people are so high on DC and why they think GGG is ducking him!! Who DC beats, Canelo is the fight to make!! As you say, period.

he should fight dereveynechenko next. the forum seem to rate him very highly and have been demanding that fight recently saying he was a legit threat who ggg was avoiding, so thats the fight that has to happen next to please people.

Canelo first, Dereveynechenko next. This would be a great fight, Sergiy is great on the inside and creates angles to land very well. I feel GGG will wear him down, but Sergiy will give GGG a lot of issues on the inside. Looking forward to this one.
