I'm assuming (or more like hoping) that the silence from both camps means this fight might actually happen next.

    Fingers crossed.

And the worst part about this, is that I'm not 100% certain gets past Povetkin after how he looked against Joesph Parker. **SIGH**

He **SHOULD** beat Povetkin easily, but if he has any sort of trouble against Povetkin, there's sure to be more delays.

I sure hope so. Both fighters stand to lose a ton of money should this fight not happen.

Not only that, but boxing fans will lose out on a fight a lot of people want to see. Myself included.

Easy - put $50M in an escrow account - with the condition that when the contract is signed it's released to AJ - or a CD - there's a difference between having the money and saying you can raise the money if the contract gets signed

How can the talks possibly be dragging? Did Juicin' J come up with more roadblocks?

Haymon himself is only worth about $15 mill. His deep pockets come from an investment fund of $925 mill in 2013. Most of that money is now gone as a court case in 2016 exposed the fact that more than half the money had been used in that fund. 2 years on we really don't know how much Haymon has left in this fund.

Also with Hearn now having backing from DAZN to the sum of $1 billion it's clear Haymon is now the clear number 2 money man in boxing right now.

Maybe Haymon does have enough to cover the $50 mill. In March 2016 his $925 mill fund was down to $357 mill. If he spent at the same rate as he did in the first 3 years the fund would now be at -$21.6 mill. He's been dishing out some big paydays of late, bigger than he did in the early days of the PBC. $2.1 mill to Wilder, $3.5 mill to Spence and Garcia. There's good reason for Hearn to question if Haymon still has the funds to cover the $50 mill purse for Joshua.
