When you feel like throwing up your stomach - not the contents, your actual stomach - then yes, it ****ing hurts.

There's a reason why boxers target the liver if they can't get your chin.

Yep they do lol, its like your legs has been seperated from your body, you would feel paralyse by it. Not only that but your side would be sore for a few days. How Maidana got up from the Khan left kidney shot i would never know.

Liver shots shuts down your body completely if accurate. You want to keep going as much as you want, but you almost stop breathing and almost want to vomit so bad.

Been down in sparring from body shots a couple of times, never was the type of De LaHoya vs Hopkins type that you go on the floor and scream like crazy. It was more like you got paralyzed and cannot move at all and searching for breathe thinking you're going to die haha.

            They're cripplingly painful.

Its why it was such a surprise that Ward got up from the Gatti liver punch

One boxer said, you see white light when you get hit there.

yea they hurt especially when your body is relaxed and not ready, normally fighters train to clench their abs when fighting in close, it's a part of the stance to hold ur gloves up, tuck ur elbows and hunch forward a bit to cover as much of the body as possible and to clench ur abs.

As the fight goes on however some fighters relax too much and they get caught not clenching and the shot goes directly to the liver and when that happens it's a very painful shot. Lomachenko disguised it very well because he was flurrying upstairs and that took Linares' attention away from protecting his body and then all of a sudden boom downstairs. All of this could be attributed to Lomachenko's stamina and ability to think down the stretch. All makings of a great champion, a great champion that I would love to see get year round random blood and urine testing.

I think it was the other way around.

Absolutely, add 9+ rds of fatigue and yeah, it'll be extremely difficult to stand up from that, and even more so to stand up straight to prevent the ref from stopping it and/or fans from calling you a quitter.

I originally thought that too...but Ward was known for those kidney shots.

Oh well, excuse to watch that fight again this weekend lol
