Stevenson's team signed with SHO when Kovalev was already in a contract with HBO. They knew there was no way to make the fight after that so it was a no-go. And it was on purpose because Haymon does business like that. It's will documented. Go read. It's not my words. It's boxing journalists in real time.

And I'm mildly a Kovalev fan and do think he beat Ward in the first fight. I have plenty to support that as well. As do a lot of the boxing experts including Lederman and Rafael.

Never been a fan of his, I respect the fact that Kov is a road warrior and has proved he’ll take any fight for short money. But the guy just comes across as the biggest excuse making , bitter POS human being in the sport

Ironic indeed! Funny how the two men Adonis ducked for years decided f*** it, and are fighting each other. Alvarez clearly couldn't be bothered waiting around so he takes on Kovalev, the killer of the division, while Kovalev is making an OPTIONAL defence against the man Adonis ducked. I can only hope glass jaw super middleweight Jack somehow pulls off the upset.

I think Jack has showed a good chin recently but let's not act like Stevenson could not stop anyone at 175 with the right shot.
