That's more than the difference between featherweight and lightweight, that's more than the difference between super bantam and lightweight! That's a FOUR division difference. That can't be true, can it? I need the source for that one.
fight weight lomachenko entered the ring at 138lbs and linares entered the ring at 153lbs that was quoted by steve bunce prior to the fight on box nation last nigt fella....15lbs difference

yeah slow compared to loma. And very solid with his old school style. And probably beats most guys because of it. But he aint no defensive wizard or offensive wizard. And loma is the new school. Although the more ppl see his pro style and study it, the better their chances will become to have closer fights with loma. Still i dont think anyone beats him though and i dont truly think mikey wants that fight because he at a place in time where he wants big money fights to retire on and loma would ruin those plans. Oh... And nice to talk at ya again my friend. Peace

        • Goddamn Loma is an incredible fighter. He's like Manny Pacquiao except with all the technical polish Pac lacked. The way he dances right in front of his opponents blows my mind sometimes.

Linares was good. Really good. He just ran into someone much better. Respect to both guys. Loma's just looking more and more like an ATG-level fighter.

However having said that 😂 😂 no game plan, he is just fast?no ring IQ? Who has the best game plan in your eyes? Power is not the be all and end all just ask Mayweather
What's up. I would be happy to debate and will do my best not to mock as well. Yeah, I think he doesn't have a gameplan most of the time he goes in there. The type of fighter he is, it seems to me like he goes in there and totally wings it and just tries to hit without getting hit, which is pretty much what boxing is about and is very impressive to do considering the level he's fighting at. But because of that, I see him trying the same things over and over again in the fight, and he's been successful for now, but a real thinking boxer in there will counter him and break him down. They'll pick up on on how he likes to step to the right and have punches waiting or much more. When he was knocked down yesterday, I didnt see him change anything at all, which turned out fine because he caught Linares with a gut wrenching body shot. But what if that body shot didnt land perfectly? He didn't have anything else in his toolbox. He didnt have anything else in his gameplan. If it was going to the cards, we might be talking about something different right now. He always does the same things.

I agree with your power statement. Power is really overrated in boxing. But the way he throws some combos, it looks alot like pity pat slapping just to set up a big punch(Kind of reminds me of how MMA guys throw combos with lighter gloves). A guy who can take his punches and keep up with his speed, will exchange with him and he can get caught while trying to set up the heavy punches by someone else timing him(Mikey Garcia, excellent timing). That's what I kinda meant, he has power but I feel like he can utilize it a lot more efficiently.

Ring generalship, this goes with what I said with gameplan. Because he has no game plan, he moves around the ring doing the same thing, just looking for angles and try to dodge punches. He never cuts off the ring unless his opponent is hurt, he doesn't set traps, he doesn't move his opponent to where he wants, he waits for his opponent to attack and then improvises. This is pretty much what he does best, improvise. It's the only reason he has gotten this far. I think a smarter boxer will trap him because of this. He has one style. He's more focused on moving out of the way than setting up his opponent and putting them where he wants them.

Who has the best game plan? It really depends on the fight. If you're asking me who my favorite boxer is, it's Floyd. He always has the right game plan and can tweak his game plan through out the fight. lol oddly enough, as a person I actually like Loma more. Floyd's antics are too much nonsense for me. But it's amazing what he does in the ring though given that Floyd has trouble talking in full coherent sentences. But Floyd doesn't throw pity pat combos, he throws short accurate power punches. Everything he throws will get your attention, it wont always hurt, but you wouldn't want to get hit too much by them. I think with Loma's punches, its the different. You want to let him hit you with those pity pat punches, so you can get in a big counter. This is what I think will eventually happen to him. But it wont be a flash knockdown like Linares gave him.

I wasn't surprised he got up from yesterday's knockdown, I know he's a tough fckin guy.

He takes too much risk for the amount of mistakes he makes. Sooo, what else?

You're going to have to choose, which do you care about more, spewing ridiculous hate for Lomachenko, or having people not think you're a total idiot? Because it's now at the point where it's going to be one or the other. Saying the #1 P4P boxer in the world "has nothing" but some "decent" speed... no one is going to take you seriously if you keep saying hilarious **** like that lol. I mean, you left his "decent" footwork! How could you forgot the one other little "decent" attribute Loma has? Lol. Oh, and the other 20 things you left out, haha.

Lol Think what you want man. Its my opinion. I'm not afraid of anyone thinking I'm an idiot, and I'm not afraid of being an idiot. And P4P? Cmon lol the only people who say he's P4P is ESPN and the other media outlets Top Rank pays. We know this guy is not P4P, he couldn't even beat dirty old man salido. You have to be able to deal with guys like that if you want to be P4P.

Yeah, I don't think he's that fast. He is fast, but he's not like so fast where im like wow. But that doesnt even matter either because speed isn't everything. And his footwork that you think is so good, it's repetitive and predictable to me. Trust me, you'll see soon enough. The truth will always reveal itself. What else?

BTW I'm not trying to hate on Loma, like i said, he seems like a good person and he always keeps it real in interviews. I respect him as a person and as a boxer. But I just dont think he's that good lol Like I said, B-B+.

This is my humble opinion lol I'm glad I could make someone laugh though. You should read my other posts, they will really make you laugh if you found this funny.

                  • what surprised me(i saw the fight live) lomachenko's power was more than enough to keep (and stun) linares at bay.

i thought linares would walk through more punches, def was not the case
