His Ring IQ, on a scale of 1 to 10, is a 15! He's just small for 135! Linares did an excellent job too, but that mental pressure just burst his pipes! Mikey vs. Loma is the best fight available, far surpassing Wilder vs. Joshua! In fact, second place is Spence Jr. vs. Crawford!
Lomachenko has only been hyped by true knowledgeable boxing fans until his last 2 fights or so, and now the fanboi casual cucks waiting for the next big thing to latch on to have arrived and are quickly becoming unbearable just like *******s were, but these cats don't know boxing they just want to nuthug a winner.
Some guy on this same page said "I used to hate him but have no choice but to like him since he keeps beating my guys" - the analysis of a casual mark who doesn't know boxing from a carton of milk.
If his ring IQ is so high, why does he constantly put himself in bad positions and make fundamental errors like he did tonight?
The biggest cause for concern I saw tonight is how easily he can be hit. Everybody, even history’s greatest defensive fighters can be hit with single shots. And as offensive minded as Lomachencko is, he’s gonna get hit some. That’s just part of letting your hands go. The biggest thing I saw was him getting his with combinations. And he was also getting hit when they were on the outside. Everything wasn’t a product of him being countered. Some of it was just him having his defense penetrated.
Getting hit isn't a sign of low ring IQ, everyone gets hit, you answer your own question here in a way in that regard. Getting hit is also a really simplistic, high level way of looking at it - we know there are different speeds on punches, different force with punches, flush punches, setup punches, so on and so forth. Fighters also allow themselves to be hit, whether it's a trade off, a bravado thing, phycological warfare, a perception of vulnerability. Of course a fighter to engages more is more prone to be hit but I don't see why this is "concerning".
Long term disposition to punches aside, it's more about how you react to getting hit and the context around the fight than simply, looking at the fact that he was also getting touched.Comment

That's what Loma does to these guys. He doesn't have huge KO power so the first 4-5 rounds, it doesn't look like he's really hurting his opponents with all the clean shots he lands, but in reality he still hits hard enough that even though we can't see them stagger on TV or visibly look hurt, inside it is taking everything out of them. Linares was gasping for air in the corner by the 5th or 6th round, getting doused in water by his corner over and over, looking like he just ran a marathon. Loma's shots to his head and body had already taken everything out of him. That's why even when Linares knocked Loma down, he didn't look exited at all, he looked discouraged because he saw Loma get up immediately and he knew he had very little left to build on that. It's only because of that knockdown and Loma taking the next round off just to be safe and get his legs back that Linares lasted until the 10th. The fact Linares then got hit with a huge, perfectly placed liver shot 5 rounds after he had already had all the energy beaten out of him, you can't expect him to be able to overcome that. Sure he could have tried to continue but he would have been back on the canvas very quickly since he could barely move or breathe at that point.

one was a liver shot, one was a ball shot. One reaction was "I just got hit in the liver I cant continue," one reaction was "ref he just hit me low what the ****? That's a point deduction!"
Not even close to the same thing, but, maybe you were joking and you already know lol?
Nahhhh... I'm in the believers clan... This guy tells my mind...

I love Loma but I think Mikey Garcia beats him. Mikey Garcia has a 6 sense that Mayweather, Ali, ward all had. He will just time him and stick to his game plan while making subtle adjustments the entire way. Loma seems to use a lot of distractions and footwork to puzzle his opponent and a weak minded one will either lose track of his own game plan and quit, or get hurt along the way.
The boxer who beats Loma will beat him from the outside. Loma is so susceptible to getting hit. Staying over 130lb he better work on his defense because his footwork is overrated and his head movement is plenty but purposeless.Last edited by Punch on Tap; 05-13-2018, 10:06 PM.Comment

Many of you are crowing Loma as P4P KING after 11 fights? He is not invincible, Linares proved that last night. I remember when Kovalev was the cucuy until he lost. Loma is too small to keep taking punishment against bigger men...130 is his best weight. He dare not go any heavier! He's best served to fight Garcia or Tank Davis but stay away from anything north of 135.Comment
