Compared to Loma, yeah he looked big as ****. Makes the win that much more impressive.

He has a real shot at Mikey. Loma is way more athletic than Mikey, but Mikey's smart and obviously has a big power advantage against Loma. I think Loma's an underdog in that fight right now. Loma would have to be perfect in his approach to win. He can't get dropped again like he did last night.

    • It was a truly great fight and I had Loma up by one point but a rematch definitely is in order and it was a TKO not AKO because he was up before 10 when the rest stopped it but Loma had his hands full and it was really hard to follow the action sometimes it was so fast and furious and at the TV camera angles often something was Miss but a truly worthy over for a rematch... now people will start talking about a fight with Garcia who is far too big for Loma who should drop back down to 130...

      • Loving the hate Loma is getting, he's got fans and he's got desperate haters, PPV soon?

Anyway, great fight. I'd rather Loma had the knockdown over finishing the fight without being put down. I think he answered many questions and will only improve from now on.

The KD was like a stiff arm, he ran into a shot, it could have been a jab but in that position you almost have to go down, the energy has to get transferred and there was no where to go but down. He had his full senses, eyes were clear and was plenty of war of the time left to take it off and dampen Linares' excitement.

He also took some mean combos from Linares which again, answers some questions. He has taken shots before but not like this and he's shown that not only is he skilled, he can **** with guys, take shots, go down, get up and take the man out.

He really is the full package, but as Bradley said, he's human so it will be even more exciting to watch, and now easier for him to get fights.

Despite being down, he didn't coast, he tightened up the D and went back straight in, which you have to admire. He could fight so many different ways, yet he's like white on rice, on you all the time.

The Golden Boy Judges though....Arum really has no pull on that front, Loma needs to run to Golden Boy asap, because this is the 3rd time (Salido, Russell, Linares) Loma gets some bull**** scores...

I don't think Loma has the power to keep taking guys out at 135+ so he will get ****ing robbed if Arum has no sway over judges...crooked ass boxing...

I hope Mikey really does come back down to 135 and Arum makes it happen, but it will just be too good to be true...so I bet the fight won't happen for years...

I think its a great fight, Mikey is Loma's height, and has shorter reach, but I think he's just the more intelligent fighter over Linares, and great power, there I think Loma can't be playing with fire like that, so we might see him more cautious and calculated. Excellent fight, the odds would be very tight for it.

I like mikey and all but he aint beating loma. I not so sure mikey beats linares either really. Linares is also big, fast, powerful with good movement. I knew last nights fight would be tough for a bit with loma ko him around 9-10. Grrat fought fight and heart by linares. Loma wont be beat by anyone 135 or lower. Maybe even 140
Look at all of Mikey's last fights, the ones he's had the hardest time in is against the slicker type boxers. Its why I always thought Linares might have his number, and Linares did well enough against Loma to make me think Linares might indeed have Mikey's number.

I suspect Mikey would have the same problem against Loma, he's big and very sound technically, but doesn't have the 'special effects' to make the dent in Loma that Linares did.

            Not spam, quite the opposite.

Before the fight, in the Frank Warren post, I predicted:

            - Loma would get caught with a good shot

            - Loma would end the fight, SPECIFICALLY with a liver shot

I just did not communicate my predictions well....

I didn't realize Linares chin was located right over his liver. You're 100% right, that really is one trash area to have your chin. The only upside to it is that when it comes time to escalate from making out with your girl to her blowing you, she only has to move her mouth a few inches from the side of your waist to the middle, rather than all the way down from the head to the other head. But for boxing, yeah, it's no good. Good analysis.

Also, why do you have a quote about May-Pac from 2009 in your sig as if it has any relevance to their fight that happened 7 years later? Making a dumb comment is bad enough, but when you also have something even dumber in your sig, it's a real bad look.

This would be a great moment for some self-awareness. Loma learned something from Linares last night, maybe you can learn something from them too. Here's what I mean. When you have to say "to be fair" after making a completely obvious statement, that would seem to suggest that maybe you're not used to being fair to the subject of your comment. You're basically saying, "I hate Lomachenko and I'm usually super biased against him, but even I have to admit, if I'm being fair for once when it comes to him, that that was a real nice body shot."

So hopefully the fact you made that statement, and now being able to read it back, will make you see clearly in the mirror that maybe you weren't being fair to him before, and you weren't being objective, and maybe now you can be in the future! Improvement is always good! Of course I have no idea of your post history so I could be totally wrong, but based on the comment you made it gave that impression. Peace.

Lomachencko is the outfielder that picks up the ball in the air a half second late. But then takes off sprinting and makes a spectacular diving catch. Where Mikey is the guy that picks up the ball almost immediately on contact with the bat, sprints early, and makes it look like a routine fly out. A lot of old timers say Hank Aaron was just as good an outfielder as Willie Mays. Only difference was he kept his hat on.

Either way, Mikey has great timing and real power, especially fighting a guy that’s probably a natural jr lightweight. Lomachencko is not as difficult to hit as some people think. And he makes fundamental errors that would get him in trouble against Mikey.
Your baseball analogy probably falls flat for most people in this forum, but I liked it. I also appreciate what Mikey is doing when it seems like he's not doing it. As long as Mikey doesn't move up to 147, those guys will eventually fight, but I don't see it happening soon. I like them both, but I think Mikey is too smart, focused and strong to get worked over like the rest of the these guys. Great win by Loma last night, but if they fought within the next year I would pick Garcia in a close competitive fight where Loma gets his face marked up pretty good.
