I think flight instead of fight is his first instinct against someone that can punch
You might be right. I guess we won't know again until Hughie fights someone like that again.

one thing about Hughie, and i may be wrong, is that he doesn't seem to be a fighter . Take Tyson Fury for instance, he can box and win fights that way but you can see he has a grit about him and if it come down to it, he would enter a tear up or really start to bring the fight to his opponent if he needed to. I just don't see that in Hughie for some reason, but maybe he has it in him, who knows.

Maybe i'm just assuming it because he seems rather quite and tame outside of the ring.

It looks like his boots are leaded. Fury could easily cruise to a decision I think. I may be wrong.
Yeah, I think the same. He's just too slow I think, he wouldn't be able to deal with the footwork and angles. Joyce is very limited, but has a good work rate and engine and is aggressive. He will need to be a seriously tough dude to make it to world level because he is going to eat some shots along the way.

You might be right. I am not sure if it's that he doesn't have the fight in him, it may just be that he's not as adaptable as Tyson and doesn't have many different sides to his game. He's a pure boxer, whereas Tyson can box, he can trade, he can pressurise. He mixes it up depending on the opponent and the way the fight is going.

I'd love to see Hughie stand his ground a bit more and hold the centre of the ring. He's got good skills, a nice jab and excellent footwork but he's not aggressive enough for me - although tonight was way better than the Parker fight. He's still young though, once he fills out and develops physically and gains more power he could be a problem for a lot of people but he needs to be more aggressive, add other facets to his game and throw more shots.

A good come back fight after the Parker loss. I still think he back pedals too much & doesn't always put enough on that jab but he counter attacked very nicely a couple of times especially on the right that ended it. He threw a good assortment of punches including some to the body. I wish he would be more aggressive but at 23 he has plenty of time to get bigger & stronger. The British title is a good strap to put on the mantle. There are some good domestic fights he could have to finish out 2018. I think he should defend it 2 more times before stepping it up to the world level again. David Price & Gary Cornish would be decent matchups. Both guys are big & each has a different skillset to challenge Hughie with. He would be favoured against both but Price does have the punch to change a fight so Fury would have to be on top of his game & can't get complacent.

Maybe he hasn't been confident enough in his power to let his hands go and plant his feet a bit more. Maybe now he'll know when to box and move and went to sit down on his shot a bit more. I know it was Sam Sexton, but tonight he showed he can punch a bit when he wants

A very mature yet polished performance from Hughie tonight. Little mention of Tyson not being ringside so I guess there's more to the Fury break up than Peter's 'conversations' with David Haye. I had Hughie to do it 7-12 but props for him for doing it in the mid range.
