Kovalev vs. Alvarez will be the first professional boxing event to take place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, which opens on June 28. Kovalev, 35, of Chelyabinsk, Russia, will be fighting for the fourth time in Atlantic City, including his 2014 victory over future Hall of Famer Bernard Hopkins, which unified three of the four light heavyweight world titles. The only light heavyweight world title Kovalev has not had the chance to win belongs to WBC Light Heavyweight Champion Adonis "Superman" Stevenson.

Everyone knows what happened with the WBC mandatory situation with Kovalev so he isn't fooling anyone. Kovalev knows he won't get to 10 rounds with Stevenson.

          Agreed.

It was Kovalevs team that dropped out of negotiations so he was the chicken, not Stevenson.

          Chicken Kievalev.

Stevenson has wasted his prime like few others. Yes he has a belt but he never fought anything close to a big time fight since beating Dawson. That's why I was stunned that he actually agreed to fight Jack.

I actually blame Duva for the Kov/Stevenson fight not happening but Kov is right in that Chicken ducked Alvarez for years.

Yeah for sure. It would have been awesome to see Stevenson fight the other top LHWs but he's taken the easy road and it's kind of looking like Jack is going to be the best we'll get to see him in with.

This is an interesting fight. Only seen Alvarez once, and I don't remember my impression. Will check out some of his fights.

I do know he has made some good coin in step aside money.

It has nothing to do with Stevenson.

                    Blame Duva/Haymon.
