It's silly how those who praise Loma's level of competition in so few fights never mention age.

It made sense for Loma to jump right in the fire because he was 25 years old when he got started. If he padded his record first he'd be 30+ years old by the time he fought a meaningful fight.

Now for 18 to 23 year olds with not much amateur experience of course they need to learn on the job and fight bums.

Y'all need to be praising Naoya Inoue. He was like 20 years old when he jumped straight into the fire!

The point is that fights don’t always need to “marinate” and talented fighters don’t need to beat up on cab drivers before getting a world title.

"Cab drivers"? leave that sort of talk to fans. If I was getting paid to write on boxing I wouldn't call no fighter bum or cab driver. So basically with the exception of Brook everyone that Spence has faced is trash? disagree.

So now mandatories are considered "gimmie fights"? well maybe someone should've told GGG that because he refused to face his mando on May 5th who wanted an opportunity. so did he basically duck a "gimmie fight"?

Boxers in the past are lucky there was no social media. Imagine if boxingscene was around when Tyson picked what many today would consider a bum in Buster Douglas. then imagine the memes and threads when he lost.

SRR almost had 200 fights. does that mean he faced almost 200 world level elite opponents? Hell no. There's about 130 "gimmie fights" in there. But hes the GOAT still.

Ryan Garcia calls out Tank Davis and everybody tells him to STFU and that he isn't ready. So basically fans are not in agreement that all fighters should face the toughest opponents right out the gate.

        Agreed.
Boxing needs to get rid of all these interim belts or even all of them.

          First things first.

Ryan Garcia isn't ready for tank. The guy is all hype and no substance. The dude literally talked **** about sparring lomachenko and who is he?

I would personally love to see tank vs Ryan garcia. Perhaps the fight would humble the dude. Like for real.

Yeah, it would be great if every fighter was as willing to take on the best fighters as Loma is.

But it is easy for Loma to do so. He is the best of the best. So taking on every top challenge is simple for him.

If you aren't Loma, then trying to do the same thing that he does is a sure way to get your butt kicked regularly.

"Boxing would benefit if every fighter was as good as the most skilled guy fighting today"

another genius article. Thanks for the insight.

                    Loma

Loma should be a PPV fighter by now. I don't know why he is not. What I know is he feasted on smaller guys. Only now that he stepped up against Linares.

He fought guys there where the same size ore bigger.

Martinez is taller and has bigger reach, marriaga, also.

Walters was bigger, heavier and had a 8 inch reach advantage! When has for example Floyd fought a undefeated beast with such huge reach advantage? Never, Floyd almost in all fights had the reach advantage.

Even Rigo had the reach advantage against Loma.
