He wasn't in the fight. He wasn't being competitive. I got few problems with fights like this being stopped & I kinda wish there was a way to stop more un-competitive fights like this cuz who == iwants to watch this sort sh^t.

Am I the only one who's on the fence or maybe even anti-believing in "man-strength"? Is this a real thing? Is it just a lil guy thing? Or does everyone get their "man strength one day or is this a thing some get & some don't? Is this provable in any way?

I don't know if it's provable, but I've seen fighters mature, and it seems they have more muscle density in their prime, probably due to the numbers of years in the gym. The Mike Tyson that beat Carl "The Truth" Williams in '89 (Carl used to beat the **** outta Mike when Mike was 18-19 in sparring), was a more powerful man than the Mike that beat Marvis Frazier in '86, and the '86 Mike was different than the Tyson that didn't make the Olympic team. Would you take a H.S. Football Player and put him in the NFL? Why not?

      • Haney looked really good. But I was watching some of his punch selection (especially the uppercuts) and thought if he was in there with a more experienced fighter he would've been seriously hurt.

I also saw about 5 or 6 shots that he really really telegraphed. He looks like a special fighter but there's a lot of work that he'll have to do to tighten up his game.

I said CONTENDERS, not champs lol. He's not ready for any of the champs at 135. Well, he could prolly take Beltran, but no way TR risk a fight with him. Beltran is keeping that belt warm for Loma.

I get that, but if you let it go this far, might as well let him finish on his shield. It was apparent Haney was too much after 3-4 rounds and the refused to stop it earlier. Now that he's only got one more round left, let him finish it. He was never seriously hurt.

I say f#ck it throw Haney in with Easter. They were saying Haney's team wants a title fight as soon as next time out. There is this lil beef with Easter. Let them have it. Lets see whats up.
But isn't Easter unifying with Garcia next?? I agree Menard on paper is a better win than Miller, but Menard's style played right into the hands of Haney. A slicker, southpaw like Miller would provide completely different problems for him to deal with. Hank Lundy is another guy that came to mind as a potential opponent for Haney

Perfect analysis. Is he's going to be a show closer he's gotta stand there and commit

Is Mikey vs Easter official? I don't trust a Mikey fight is happening til its officially announced. Mikey has a habit of getting all kinds of dudes names in his mouth.

And yea I don't disagree Menard played right into Haney's hands & I bet they did a good bit of matchmaking to get Menard specifically cuz he's limited, had been out of the ring for awhile & likely lacking some focus after the letdown vs Beltran.

I also wouldn't disagree with a guy like Lundy next I was just working off of their team stance that a title shot is something they'd be into doing next if it pops up. And to me that already hyped & beef'd up match between Haney & Easter seeems doable. And I wouldn't hate Haney's chances in that fight & off of this fight last night would likely favor Haney.

Thats what people always say "you let it go this far why not x more rds". Well cuz I think the damage thats happening in boxing isn't just about the damage we see. I think the brain is taking damage in lotsa fights & why risk more damage in a fight that doesn't matter? I say don't.

And I'd be cool with less meaningful to the top 20 fighters in the world to be stopped sooner or where there isn't a certain level of competitiveness. But Menard had lost all previous rounds in my eyes (didn't hear the judges scorecards) & never seemed close to even hitting Haney good let alone to the point of KOing him/hurting him. I really don't see the point in these fights going on when its a one man show.

Either improve the matchmaking for events or stop mismatches earlier. I'd be for either option & honestly both options if we could make them rules.
