Hearn wouldn't hurt to try and talk, but there seems to be more hands involved than originally thought
Devin's dad is an alleged street dude (most say a current or former pimp) so yea they got money & they probably own all that sh^t, but in this business you need connections to move up eventually. Or usually you do. Its not like Devin is SRL or something & call his own shots or anything. So while I'm sure the deal will need to be nice enough & maybe that doesn't happen til after he wins a belt, but he's still gonna likely need to partner up to have the max impact on the game he can.

Does Hearn want to get into a Caribe Promotions-type situation, though? If the money actually is Haney's, it'd seem that they'd be in the position to question Hearn's plan at each step.

Huh?!?! Are you suggesting EVERY boxer can't question the moves of their promoter or whoever every step of the way?

But sure anyone with some leverage can make things more difficult for the promoter, but I think the Haney's are gonna need to trust someone at some point & if anything this situation wouldn't be unlike the Hearn/Eubank Jr situation which obviously wasn't ideal, but they could agree on mot thins even if it ultimately didn't work out.
