He should be. It was a **** main event thrown together at the last minute and did well. Tom is a good promoter and he's doing good things such as the Superfly series, his new Hollywood fight night series and yet so many on here want him to fail because they dislike GGG. That's petty and proof we (Boxing) have the worst fans. I mean what other fans in other sports are rooting for their industries to fail and go away because you like a player more than your entire sport?

That superfly series is awesome. One of the best things going in the sport today.

Don't mistake calling out b.s. for wanting GGG to fail. Some of you are just defensive about Golovkin for some reason lol

defenses of his WBA "regular" title don't count. Regardless of whether Sturm was ducking him, GGG had the junior varsity title. He's 5 short of Hopkins' record.

With the right matchmaking, anyone can match a record. I am GGG fan but his resume does not compare to the great Hopkins. Hopkins fought the likes of RJJ, Glen Johnson, Mercado, Winky, Jermaine Tyalor, Calzaghe, and Trinidad to name a few. He also moved up in weight like he said he would, he didn't just talk about it, he was walked the walk and talked the talk.

When it comes to GGG I don't believe anybody is rooting for him to fail. They just no BS when they see it. Think about it, the promoter is bragging to the media about how GGG has set records while selling us shi*t fights. These records aren't even special with the exception of the Hopkins record.

BHop only moved up from 160 after losing twice to Jermain Taylor. He didn't do it just because he said he would, he did it because he had to.

people tend to forget how much Hopkins was criticized during his mw run. His 2 biggest wins were vs Trinidad and delahoya and people criticized that because they were considered welterweights. Glen Johnson wasn't looked at as a big win at the time because Glen didn't make a name for himself until knocking out Roy yrs later. Everyone else on the mw defense record werent big names. Everyone else you mentioned happened after Hopkins moved up from mw and was over 40 yrs old. His respect started with the Tarver fight when he first moved up at the age of 41.

                    Exactly, people dont like GGG
Its just verifies how people have gotten more wise to boxing tricks and wont get behind hype-jobs (is what he appeared to be, facing continuous stiffs and thinking people would fall for it and pay to see such)
Because during Money Mays time many on here, was saying how boring he was using the sweet science (hit and dont get hit)
People expect champions who are seeming to dominate to move on to bigger challenges, WARd was sitting there and he didnt dare move up for the challenge, WHILE TBE and PAC, were constantly stepping up.
They (his promotional team) gambled on the wrong play. That they thought would work (right skin color/ lots of KO's), and it didnt. 37yrs old with only ONE big fight, and he could only muster a DRAW....vs someone who was moving up for better challenges. KARMA

Suddenly Hopkins is god on this forum, two years ago he was on something, he was overrated, a snoozefest, but now suddenly he's a god. Boxing fans can be truly spectacular flip floppers. Bhop is a legend and HOF but different generations and the reality is both benefitted from lapses where their divisions weren't hot with talent.
