I thought that the bigger purse was offered to Stevenson before he went to Showtime and he flat out said NO. That's when Kovalev called Stevenson a piece of **** for ducking him on national TV

no hbo refused to match showtimes offer for a 3 fight deal..

so stevenson went to sho with bernard hopkin's name in his contract, but hopkins ducked stevenson for and fougth kov for less money bc of the golden boy and haymon beef

This is how ****** and biased these Haymon fighters are. "They said Floyd cherry picked too, therefore it's not true when they say I cherry pick." Actually, it was true about Floyd, and it's true about you. But when you're so biased that you look up to a cherry picker like Floyd, then it's easy to apply the same low standards to yourself, and that's how this weak era of boxing has materialized in Floyd's wake. It's even come to Floyd's own backyard in the form of Gervonta Davis who expects to be put in mismatch after mismatch until he magically becomes a PPV star, just like he saw Floyd do it (except Floyd had old Oscar and the tease of fighting the much more entertaining Manny Pacquiao to build his name off of, Tank does not).

These guys are everything wrong with modern boxing. Until writers start writing about THAT problem, instead of this puff piece, the sport will keep going downhill.

Honestly this fight was high on my list years ago. I wanted to see this more so than GGGvsCanelo. it's a shame. HBOvsShowtime costed us alot's of fights.

It's like, what's the fkn point in boxing if the two best guys in a div never meet? But the blame, for me at least, lies firmly at the door of Stevenson for jumping ship etc. I wanted that fight so bad and I don't know if I even care now.
