Duva was not the one who offered the purse bid.

Hahaha lmao at the second part. So the networks worked together for a billion dollar fight, and that’s your argument that they would work together for Kovalev-Stevenson? Are you serious?

Haymon would have won the bidding, and would make it exclusively a Showtime event...

Stevenson is an absolute joke. He has avoided any serious competition and in my opinion should have been stripped a long time ago. This is the exact problem with so many boxing organizations now. All they're really concerned about is sancitioning fees. Stevenson hasn't fought a credible contender in years so he should shut up about Kovalov or any other real fighter

Nobody other than us nerd even know who Adonis Stevenson is! Shut up about it or make the fight happen. His biggest win is against and completely shop worn Dawson. That's it!

Did you even followed what happened? this reply makes no sense!

Mainevents requested a purse-bid for Stevenson, because they were the ' WBC Diamond champion/mandatory' to Adonis.

“It was requested at the WBC Convention (last December) for Kovalev-Pascal winner to face Adonis. (Kathy Duva) went there requesting, to force Stevenson to fight the winner, without us knowing about it. ''

“But we said fine, it’s a fight that everyone wants. We ensured to get the best revenue possible with the network that will invest the most and believes that has the most value for its viewers. '' -- Yvon Michel

Let me break it down, remember some of the blame must go to HBO for being cheapskates : They didn't even want to match Showtimes bid for Stevenson-Fonfara and lost the rights to that fight to Showtime, so Kathy Duva and Mainevent were SHOOK that when Stevenson vs. Kovalev went to purse bid ; it would cut their affiliates/partners at HBO.

Team Stevenson was open to 50-50 split ( on certain conditions which I will leave out to make it short) but on a open market because obviously whoever pays the most to promote this fight was better for both Stevenson and Kovalev since the pot would be bigger ; the problem was that Duva had ties to HBO and was looking out for her TV deal with the network rather than what was best financially for Kovalev, the witch was so confident in this going through with HBO because both fighters at one point fought on the network but then HBO refused to pay Stevenson for Fonfara and lost him to Showtime because they paid the most.

HBO spent a lot of time and money showcasing both Kovalev and Stevenson and they obviously felt entitled to the PPV money,

it would of been a major L for the network going to purse-bid because unlike Mayweather-Pac that was a cross-promotion if this fight went to purse-bid one of the networks would be cut out -- a good chance team Stevenson would of won and Mainevents knew it.

but the DUMBASS C*nt Duva demanded the purse-bid! which makes her look completely ******, but its a moral victory for her and HBO blocking the fight -- since they cant have it no one will, is their way of thinking.

Closing, Superman and Kovalev could of got it on ; the difference is that Kovalev and mainevents limited themselves to HBO but Stevensons team wanted the highest bidder -- as any business person would.

            Kathy Duva's fault not Stevenson......

The networks will work together when the pie is big enough to make it worth their while. Stevenson vs Kov wasn't and Kathy should of signed the deal after the purse bid however if Kov lost to Stephenson she would have lost the HBO deal so Duva did what was best for her company but the HBO deal essentially killed the fight. Duva with limited number of fighters took the sure money. Can't blame her for not taking the risk however I do blame her for acting like Stevenson was running from Kov when that wasn't the case. She accused Ward of running from Kov twice even after he made Kov quit.

hbo had just flopped with ggg-lemuiex...kov is not a ppv start and the ward numbers show us that and we knew that even before then...showtime/haymon/michel wanted to be involve only to make sure stevenson got his guaranteed 3 million that kahty was offering but coudlnt provide proof that she or hbo could make....HBO AND SHOWTIME WORKING TOGETHER IS BEST FOR THE SPORT..showtime had better counter offers each time and had proof of funds to guarantee the fighters unlike hbo who was killing their budget and flopping on ppvs

                1.stevenson joined 2 purse bids
2.offered 50-50 showtime and hbo (was told showtime couldnt be involved)
                3. showtime put up 3.5 million to pay off hbo and bring kov over..kathy refused to take it to hbo
                4. kathy has recently did interviews stating that kovalev wont go for stevenson

that is a total of 5 times that kov and kathy have declined to make this fight

I thought that the bigger purse was offered to Stevenson before he went to Showtime and he flat out said NO. That's when Kovalev called Stevenson a piece of **** for ducking him on national TV

“I fight the best guys,” he said. “I fought Chad Dawson and Tavoris Cloud. It’s just talk.

This guy. Dawson was coming off a lopsided stoppage loss and Cloud was coming off a dominant loss to to 48-year old Hopkins. He even tries to hype the Fonfara re-match. He was ducking that re-match until Fonfara got blasted in a round by Joe Smith so to avoid Smith he gave that re-match. Williams? Really?

Stevenson is a fraud. Jack will take his heart and his paper title. If somehow Stevenson wins he will go back to complete the Fonfara trilogy or fight Dawson again. Worst "champion" of recent times. Shame because he has ability.
