Still holding out hope the Kovalev/Stevenson fight gets made before both are 50. But the Jack fight will be interesting. I'd be surprised if Stevenson gets old in the ring for this one. He doesn't have that many miles on his frame, and hasn't been in many real battles. I would predict he has 2, maybe 3 years left before retiring. So hopefully somebody gets off their duff and makes the Kov fight happen by this time next year.

So tragic that the 2 best light heavies (not inc. Ward) haven't faced off. These guys should be negotiating their 2nd or 3rd fight at this point in time. It's unforgivable, quite honestly. Much like Floyd vs Pacman not happening 5 years before it did. It's total bullshti.

First off let me say i don’t know if my timeline will be 100% accurate either

But from what I remember and what’s been said
Adonis was a free agent and went to Showtime because he got a better deal even though HBO had the opportunity to match it but they didn’t and they were something like 50k apart. If HBO was so gung ho on the fight I don’t know why they’d walk over 50k

Then Kov got put into position to be Adonis’s Mando even though it went against the WBC rules when it came time for a purse bid Main Events And Kov walked even though at that time Kov wasn’t attached to HBO and was free to fight on any network

Blame can be put on both sides for the fight not happening but it seems if the $ was right Adonis would have fought Kov

But from what I understand Adonis can’t fight in the States because of his criminal record it has nothing to do with Kov

Jack is on a roll right now, and always seems to come into these big fights with a solid gameplan. Stevenson is, in my eyes, fairly one-dimensional, pretty much everything he has comes off the back of his straight left, which despite being one of the best single punches in the sport currently, is only one punch. I expect Jack to come prepared and to defeat Stevenson.
