The counter-argument and one Eddie has to consider is whether Alexander Povetkin could chin AJ.
But I don’t know how they project PPV buys, it all seems a bit of a guessing game to me. It’s not like they’d fight in a months time without a massive PR machine going into overdrive on both sides of the pond for about 5/6 monthsLast edited by Sparked_26; 05-07-2018, 05:40 PM.Comment

I have a feeling Joshua will push for the fight despite these reservations from Hearn. Call me crazy, but I think there are two young champs eager to prove themselves here.
It's not like there's a decisive favorite here. AJ is also a smart young man. Hearn didn't mention the numbers for the secenario where AJ knocks Wilder out late this year. I'm sure those projections trump anything he has with him avoiding the fight.Comment

Cowards! Could you imagine if it was the other way around? They would be dogging America to the ground. This is shamless. If they wait it out and beat Deontay when he's old it's a shame.Comment

of course they want to delay the fight. They know Wilder is a dangerous fight and they also know if/when AJ loses a fight, the fickle casual fanbase that makes up 95% of his huge fanbase will move on and go find a new hero in a different sport. They're not boxing fans.
So with that in mind and knowing that they can still make a few huge paydays out of those casual fans by fighting basically anybody, why wouldn't they want to take a few more of those fights before the Wilder one?
Joshua is in a rare positions most fighters don't get in. When you can make 8 figures and sell out stadiums and PPV's fighting guys like Takam, why would you be in a rush to make dangerous fights?
It's **** for us fans but it's understandable from the point of view of his teamComment
