Soon as his son started talking about inspecting the coffers, it was clear they were full of ****.

I still hold out hope it happens this year, but I maintained all along it won’t.

Joshua will fight Povetkin or Miller and Wilder will face Breazeale. All of those opponents have been on standby for months.

Speaking of transparency, interesting angle by some on here. Avoiding the article entirely to instead talk about Wilder’s chin, age, poster’s country loyalty, anything but what Hearn said. Just goes to show that deep inside they know the truth.
    Nothing but truth above.

How do you even get to 28 fights without even one credible domestic rival, it would take some doing to dodge that many shows. Some of the responsibility has to be Wilders himself. My point is, he (and his fans) can't moan about not being in control of negotiations, he didn't put himself in the driving seat, he was lazy one way or another and now it's costing him $10m's.

Btw, I don't even dislike the guy, I think he has a pretty good story, at least as good as AJ's in terms of what motivates him etc, but what I don't like is he's not authentic, he puts on a persona, changes it too often, says too much stuff just for the headlines.
I honestly agree with everything you said! It's a reason why he's not big in American like the champions that came before him. However i am still rooting for him.

      • I would get rid of Wilder, win or loose now, and be done with any demons I might have.

What happens if you go Povetkin and for some reason he lands a bomb, you are on the floor and loose.
Coming back from that will not be easy and you would go down like a plane in flames.

          • Doesn't make sense. The only way this fight gets bigger is by Wilder getting bigger in the US. There's no way this fight will make more in the UK in a year than it would now and Joshua will not grow enough in the US to change things. The problem is, Wilder's growth is not on their control and even if he is sucessful in this they only lose leverage. All in all, this fight would make a boom in Joshua's popularity world wide that would make him get a lot more money from then on. If they don't want it now is because they know that a Joshua win is unlikely to happen

You claim there's a lack of reading comprehension then you proceed to contradict yourself in your own post. And you have the nerve to insult other posters' intelligence lol

By the way, that other post was detailing differences in risk management versus risk mitigation. There wasn't a comprehension issue. Two people can look at the same set of information and draw very different logical conclusions. Especially when there's ambiguity in the language under discussion.
AJ fighting for 50 Million isnt a big deal bc he can make that in about 2 fights almost ,certainly 3 so its not worth giving up promotional control . Only a fool would do that .

Maybe you missed the part where Wilder makes 1.5 a fight ? And if Hearn actually based it on his real value he wouldn't even get a 12.5 flat fee bc he has Wilders own numbers to use against him .

The fight should have been negotiated weeks ago but team Wilder refused and therefore the fight wont be next , thats for sure .

You guys lack any business sense is the problem and all you do is reiterate rehashed things that are explained to you on here which means you must lack education ? Theres no other answer for it .

Wilder isnt sure he could win otherwise he signs Hearns deal weeks ago and knows he stands to make no less than 32 Million with fighting Joshua ,which again probably has to be explained to you the difference between 1,5 Million a fight and anywhere near that amount which would take Wilder over TWENTY fights instead of TWO ...lmao.

You just are incapable of logic on the subject like the rest LIKE you and will be the first to cry about the fight not happening next and blame everyone but team Wilder , shocking ..... . SMH

And if Breazeale does knock Wilder out , im going to laugh forever on here at all you idiots who became accountants and defended POOR Wilder bc he was offered a title shot to make HUGE amounts of money but declined the initial offer ....LOL

                • Here you are Matchroom/Team Joshua fanboys. This all but confirms what every right thinking and objective fight fan of goodwill knew all along.

That they were deliberately and intentionally sabotaging the negotiations between a potential Joshua vs Wilder fight because they had no real intentions of fighting Deontay Wilder in the foreseeable future anyway.

Barry Hearn even stated the fight shouldn't take place until another 12 months or so anyway and it's tentatively is. So there goes your argument about Wilder signing a contract. When it reality there was no fucking contract.

They never negotiated in good faith. It was all a smoke screen.
