But you're right, a lot of Joshua fans have been tricked by Eddie into believing a false narrative. What Barry is saying here is the truth. Eddie has just been doing his job and trying to hide the truth to make Joshua look better.
I very much agree. I predicted they would do this as it makes sense for them as promoters. The problem we run into is that you have "loyal" (obsessed) fans who, for whatever reason, think it's their duty as fans to protect the integrity of the guy promoting "their" fighter. It's ludicrous and it makes the fans look like asses because promoters are rarely forthright, honest people. They're promoting, generating hype. Fans arguing on behalf of a promoter in a cult like way are rarely going to come out on top of an argument.

BTW, respect to Barry for transparency here. A little of that goes a long way.

It's good point, but if Joshua loses before the Wilder fight he'll lose a lot of money!! So take the money right now cuz you never know

I think Joshua should better catch the $ 50 million and be knocked out by Wilder ... than win $ 20 million and be knocked out by Povetkin

I can put up with this fight being delayed some. Some. Not much. Year max.

The only time when a fight shouldn't be delayed is when one or both of the fighters are getting older or deteriorating in some other way as that affects the quality of the matchup.

Having said that, once a champ is coming off his prime he's ony interested in the money fights not the best sporting matchups.

Ward, much as I dislike his style of boxing, I have to hand it to him that he was as much about legacy as $ when he went after Kov.

Mikey is already about $ and he is young - imagine what a b*tch he'll become when he's older. Loma is still legacy as he has no choice as he hasn't made serious money yet. Andrade and BKS are already all about the money. Hopkins was great for legacy - best legacy fighter of this and even the last generation as he spanned 2 generations.

I have a feeling Joshua will push for the fight despite these reservations from Hearn. Call me crazy, but I think there are two young champs eager to prove themselves here.

It's not like there's a decisive favorite here. AJ is also a smart young man. Hearn didn't mention the numbers for the secenario where AJ knocks Wilder out late this year. I'm sure those projections trump anything he has with him avoiding the fight.

Forget that noise. They are both undefeated and at the height of their powers, make it happen now! **** delaying it.

Its not Joshua i would be worried about .

Wilder is the one dropping rounds ,getting saved by bells ,getting staggered , etc .

Wilder should have just accepted the 12.5 Million bc if big Breazeale lands one of those clubs on him and wns , Wilder is going to be labled Captain Idiot for the remainder of his career .

I thought it's been pretty clear for a while that Hearn (at least Eddie) doesn't want the fight right now. From a promoters standpoint I can't blame him. If you think you can make a lot more money by waiting a year then I would do the same in his shoes. But I'm not a promoter, I'm a fan, so I want to see it now lol.

If they did one more fight each and then fought each other I would be happy with that. I just hope it doesn't get drawn out for a long time. The Mayweather-Pacquiao 5 year fiasco really burned me out on that stuff.
