He's proved himself already. He's 36 now, he can fight who he likes.

It has to be one of those four to explain this article. Yes I read it. It was painful.

Well, g could prove he can decisively beat a top opponent. He could prove that he isn't always looking for the easiest fight, no matter what. He has fought two top opponents. The first was a controversial decision win and the second was a draw. Literally. That leaves a lot left to prove. Canelo has wins over Trout, Lara, and Cotto.

I'm sorry, but this is b.s. This is like praising DSG for knocking out Salka. Come on, this is just pathetic. A mandatory against a prospect with 12 pro fights, to fight you on three weeks notice? Nope. Brought a jmw on a losing streak out of retirement instead. Fighters should not get praised for that.

If you give g credit for this win, you need to also praise Mayweather for his performance over Berto and Wilder's performance over Arreola. Those fights proved as much as this debacle.

See that’s the problem right there. He has 2 names on his resume, that’s it. A very very close win and a draw( which I won’t lie I thought he won)Danny Jacobs could beat all the opponents on his resume and Canelo can beat all the opponents on his resume. Charlo could also. That padded record is nothing to writehome about if all of your current viable opponents can easily achieve and dispose of the lacklustre competition you have had. I am not dis*****g his power and his toughness because damn that head can absorb punishment but if you were a true fan of his you would want him to prove that he is the best and solidify himself beyond reasonable doubt. Not mutter he is old he can fight who he wants

Good job ****ting on Hopkins resume. “Title defenses mean nothing when you fight Allen and Echols 5 times”
I said title defenses mean nothing when you fight guys coming up 1and two weightclasses. Ward wanted to fight him and so did Lara. How many did he sign up to fight?
Let me guess they were both scared of ggg?
His team is not looking to make good fights unless they make the bulk share of the pot.

Against who? Who has g "proved" himself against?

Second, with three different belts, g needs to fight his mandatories. Which g has until August 3rd to fight Derevyanchenko or be stripped of his IBF belt. g doesn't get a pass for being old. If he isn't going to fight the top dogs, then that is fine, as long as he vacates his titles. No "champion" can go around fighting only retired journeymen.

9 defences + 4 years on top is enough for anyone. Should either take afinal legacy fight or retire. Would be nice to get to double figure defenes.

                      How about we nitpick BHop?
His best wins at 160 were against former welters too.
How about we nitpick Monzon ? Napoles and Griffin ? Former welters . Nino ? Former 154 champion.
Fought mostly in his homeland .
How about Hagler ? Let's nitpick his defenses too.
Fought a bum in Caveman Lee. Hell, HBO REFUSED to air that one. Two fights with Hamsho? Duran , Leonard and Hearns were not career middleweights either .

GGG was on the road most of his life and never lost .
Hagler fought Hearns, Leonard, Duran. Don’t even compare ggg to him that’s toooo disrespectful. At least Hopkins had the balls to move up to light heavy meanwhile ggg fighting retired jr middleweights lol.
