Comments Thread For: Shawn Porter Believes Danny Garcia Fight Will Happen in The Fall

With Keith Thurman no longer the WBC welterweight champion, the title is now up for grabs between their two top rated contenders, former beltholders Shawn Porter (28-2-1, 17 KOs) and Danny Garcia (34-1, 20 KOs). Porter has made it very clear recently that he yearns for this particular match-up.

I hope so. It seems like there's a whole lot of nothing going on at Welter at this moment in time, despite there being no shortage of good fighters.

Him and his father kept saying how Danny is a cherry picker and wouldn't fight them. Well, here you go. I wanna see Danny knock this fool out.

Don't see why they can't make it happen in July/August. That "fall" line is way to avoid Spence.

Al Haymon guys are just wasting away. 3 fights a year should be a minimum. Even guys that make substantially less than $1M a fight are fighting once or twice a year. What happened to Sammy Vasquez? Figueroa?

It comes down to the fighter. Spence is fighting three times this year b/c he demanded it. These guys have to want to get in the ring.

Not too familar with Vasquez's team, but Figueroa is an undisciplined guy. He's noncommittal about his career.

That's the VERY FIRST thing I thought when I heard this. Haymon gives these guys too much leeway.
