Agreed A ref who breaks the action a lot doesn't favor Porter

I like porter as a person because he seems humble and also as a fighter in the sense that he doesn't seem scared to want to challenge himself. But as an actual boxer, I hate his style. It's almost unfair to his opponent when a ref let's him get away with it because he's mauling, headbutting, pushing. His style is not boxing in any sense of the word.

Whoever wins this match-up is gonna have to fight Spence Jr. "Man Down", and relinquish his belt

That’s exactly what I was thinking.

The gift and the curse of a manager-led boxing world.

Shawn Porter and his father only want certain fights, and they've made enough money to sit on the fights that they want.

Danny Garcia had an absolutely brutal run to his spot, fought Keith Thurman in the biggest fight that he was likely getting, and then chose to take time off (because he's earned enough over his career to be free to do so). Once the motor started revving again, Danny Garcia got back to boxing.

Errol Spence Jr is still on the come up, has his first world title, and is on pace for three good fights this year because that's what he wants to do.

Haymon helps facilitate fighters having the career that they want, good, bad, or otherwise.

kudos to you for all you have achieved
you have done it well and always kept it classy
but you take just way too much punishment
sure the fights you have had where you just mob guys have not been against elite competition where boxers can make adjustments and counter you
and even then the guys who should have taken you apart like thurman havent because face it in the wake of floyd retiring - you guys at 147 just arent that good yet - or maybe never (and probably not - to floyds level)

errol spence and probably terrence crawford will pick you apart fight by fight even danny garcia will take a piece out of you

all of this will combine to effect you longterm

you should simply get out in a year - i would get out now - its not worth it - or hire floyd mayweather sr and learn a new style and not take all the punishment you do.

                good luck!
Porter is going to burn out like a supernova. After already showing himself to be a step lower than elite, Porter is going to try and cram as many big fights into the next 2-3 years and walk away.

The Danny Garcia fight seems set to be next (I think Garcia wins the fight 8-4, tbh), Porter will take a couple of softer touches to rebuild his momentum, and likely get crushed by undisputed champion Errol Spence Jr, before sticking to softer touches until he wants to hang them up.

The winner or loser will continue to duck Spence.

I am rooting for whoever I believe will unify the division. Honestly I don't think either of these guys want it with Spence.
