Read the post again. Golovkin was 15+ defenses in when people were urging him to move up. This is Spence's second defense. #2. The comparison doesn't fly at this point.

And tell me what Andre Ward caliber opponent is there to fight at 154?

All of Spence's potential signature wins are at 147. Golovkin was simply asked to move up and face Ward at 168. That's it. When he refused Andre didn't stalk or beg he simply moved up himself and beat Kovalev. With one win he eclipsed Golovkin's entire career in one night.

its like when this same guy was trying to defend golovkin by making a thread about ocampo, centeno and cuellar.......but not mentioning spence and charlo are 27 with davis being 23...yet lil is fighting a bum and hes 36
Hopkins didn’t move up til he was 40. Didn’t catch his big fight til he was almost 37. But he should have moved up right?

So what argument are you talking about?

So now it’s he has 15 defenses? Just today people are saying it’s only 8. So which is it?

If people don’t want to fight Golovkin, he should move up.
If people don’t want to fight Spence, he should be patient.

You guys need to learn to be consistent. “But the number of defenses though”

because NO one is really asking for lil g to move up now.....they were a couple of years ago when there were a few decent fights and he claimed he was being ducked and couldnt get fights

like no one is saying that today...we get that 160 is heating up..and 168 is kind of weak......but it remains to be seen if lil g will even stick around boxing to fight guys like saunders, charlo and jacobs/canelo again.....i highly doubt it

anyways...nobody can take you guys seriously...nobody cares if he moves up now
Before the Jacobs fight got finalized I was calling for Golovkin to move up to 168. If I could find posts to that effect I'll show you. I'm far from a guzzler and you know it so cut the bullcrap.

alot of people were calling for him to move up before the brook fight even.......but they arent anymore...we all know 160 is heating up now.....but back then he claimed he couldnt get fights and was being ducked....but no one says that now...and i think all of the guys at 160 would love a crack at him now

so it was a moot point for anyone to bring up

lil g wont last as long as hopkins...not even close...and he certainly wont go up and compete at 175 against top guys even a couple of years from now

stop trying to compare lil g to a fighter that he will never equal or eclipse as far as a career...it just looks desperate...lil g is 36 and couldnt even survive the next year against charlo, saunders and canelo without getting retired

Spence will move up because he is large for being a welterweight. Golovkin is not large at all for being a middleweight. There is not a lot of logic in assuming fighters should just willy-nilly change weight classes.

Who said he would last as long as Hopkins? And why does he have to? Im not comparing them as fighters either. Im just pointing out the age comparison that you brought up. Nobody knew Hopkins would fight as long as he did. Nobody knows when G will retire. It just looks foolsih on your part to say a man should move out of his comfort zone to appease you while at the same time you have no problems with Hopkins trajectory in his career.

Thats why age is irrelevant. Every man has his own career path.

And why are you worried about how Golovkin survives anyways, you dont even like him.

I brought it up because it was obviously the motive behind this thread.

NO! Sorry but I want to see Spence Jr vs Garcia, Porter, Thurman and Crawford. Those are bigger fights for him than ANYBODY currently at 154.

If he cleans out the Division THEN yeah the call for him to move up will come no doubt.

I see that fans don't want the best to fight the best, you guys want to play these little Childish Games of "You said This about my fighter so I will say this about your fighter" and the most disturbing thing is that some of you actually THINK your opinions are some sort of FACTS
